Surgery went great, but after talking with the local vet, I think it's best she stay there at their facility for about a week. She cannot have any real physical activity for a couple of week and between my other two dogs at the house along with other circumstances I do not want to risk the chance of infection if she stays at my house. It's crazy the amount of money we spend on our pets, but what are we going to do? I'm about 2k in the hole for this little fiasco right now. Just ready to have my little girl back :(

It's great to hear that the surgery went well and that she's going to be okay. I don't know if I could leave one of mine at the vet for a week. I guess it would depend on which one it was. Some of mine would be okay with it, but I think it might kill my Great Pyrenees to be away from us for a week. Labs are usually better at adapting to that.

Glad it all worked out. Rehab in a controlled environment sounds like a great idea.

Yeah it eats me up to leave her there for a week.... but I don't really have a big enough kennel I could leave her inside and that's just not fair to her to do that. Plus my 10'x10' kennel has some dirt and stuff in it so I can't risk infection with the staples. The best feeling in the world is coming home to a dog that is just so excited to see you! I just don't want her to get excited and jump around when she sees me and have it do damage to her.
