My childhood best friend has been battling Leukemia for 7 years now. When we were 25 docs found the first tumor. It started at his esophagus wrapped around it completely and was growing towards his heart. He had a rough 2 year battle with chemo and a couple bouts with pneumonia during that time. Then he went to his 5 year check up an they found more tumors. Once again he was in a fight for his life. That was two years ago. He and his then fiancé planned a wedding for a month after they found out. It was one month after they were married when he got his bone marrow transplant. She was by his side every step of the way, until she asked for a divorce just after their one year anniversary. Since then he has been in and out of the hospital and through all sorts of treatments. Once the divorce if final, he will loose the insurance she carries on him although he has paid her back the premium since the split up. He has stayed strong through all this and has put up one heck of a fight. I can't imagine the number of prayers that have went up for him. I couldn't the ones I've sent up alone. He went in for some scans a month ago and found another tumor growing on the side if his heart. The doc decided not to do a biopsy due to the risk. They called in a specialist surgeon that decided he would do the surgery. That's where we are now. He is waiting in the hospital for the surgery scheduled for tomorrow. I am asking everyone to please join me in lifting him up in prayer as he goes through this. God has had his hands on him throughout all this and he has been an inspiration to so many people. Thank you all in advance for your prayers!
Prayers and well wishes for your buddy. I lost a good buddy to the same bastard in '96. 31 years old.
Dear Jesus, please touch this dear friend as he goes into surgery. Give him Your healing touch and a speedy recovery. In Jesus Name.
Wow... that's some heavy duty stuff for anyone to deal with. Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. Father I additionally ask... lift up this young man. We ask You to provide for him: medical care, insurance, healing, and restored relationships. Thank you for the friend he has to faithfully bring this need before us. I pray that You provide strength, comfort and wisdom there too... in Jesus name...
I am so sorry to hear about the tough road your friend is on. It is a good thing he has you. Sending prayers and well wishes!
