well its not good. theres nothing they can do for this (retinal contusion) or something along those lines. ive got no depth perception any longer , which im told ill get used to and start to compensate for over time. my left eye has only peripheral vision everything in the centers dark gray. he did say ive got about 10-20 percent chance of going back to normal, but he didnt seem very optimistic. the next couple weeks ive gotta go back every couple days to check progress. theres still an extreme amount of pressure behind my retina from bleeding that has to be monitered. ive gotta take it easy for that period of time so the bleeding doesnt get worse. im takin some kind of steriod for the pressure that helps. its pretty much like walking around drunk 24/7 right now because my depth perceptions off and it kinda makes me dizzy. with any luck at this point ill be able to renew my license in a couple years when it comes due for renewal. im not giving up on bowhunting but i think turkey season shot without a doubt. i can tell ya that ill own a pair of those safety/sunglasses from cabelas before i ever draw a bow again. before this turns into too much of a ill say it could be far worse PS Thanks for the prayers - hell maybe that 10-20 percent will pull through for me !
Dave, Do you mind if I run your situation past my cousin? He is an eye surgeon in Charlotte....Don't know if he can tell anything different from what you've heard but he is damn good.... SB
YOU CAN RUN IT BY EVERYONE YOU KNOW IF IT HAS GOT A SNOWBALLS CHANCE IN HELL OF TURNING THE NEWS I GOT TODAY AROUND EVEN ONE EYOTTA !! THANKS......... BOY WHAT A DAY !! THE WORST PART IS I CANT EVEN HAVE A COLD ONE TO PONDER ALL THIS NEWS , CAUSE ITLL THIN MY BLOOD OUT....... GEESH
Man thats tough to swallow right now, but you know someone has to be in that 20% God willing it will be you. Good luck man.
Dave, So sorry for the unfortunate incident and news. My thoughts and prayers are with you and hopefully with everyone on BHC pulling for you, that 20 percent will come through. God Bless!
Man I'm real sorry to hear that happen to you. Prayer is what you will need now, and hope for the best. I'd be hanging onto those release parts and talking to a lawyer real soon, just in case this thing has a history of failing. You want to make sure that your covered for the future and don't sign anything before having a lawyer look at it.
Dave, Keep a positive attitude, and do what you can to help things along. Again, unfortunately, patience and persistence are really the only things you can focus on right now.
Good luck Man, I'm pulling for you. Never give up and don't be impatient..... this is going to take time. Slowing down and taking it easy will probably speed recovery.
