Looks like they are finally done running tests and will do dad's surgery today after him laying in the hospital in pain and on pain killers half working for nearly two weeks. Hoping all goes well but they have everyone scared with their concerns about getting him off the respirator after surgery. Hope they get him fixed up finally. You all take care today.
I lost my dad at 64 five years ago. The biggest thing was making sure he knew our Lord and Savior. I won't preach on a forum. However, I will pray for you and your dad and the opportunity to share with him this eternal message. T-Squared
Thanks everyone...unfortunately once again they postponed the surgery until monday. Said they couldn't get it scheduled in time for today...unbelievable. I drove an hour and a half this morning in a rush to get there in time to visit with him a little before surgery only to get there and be told another hour later they would do it monday. Maybe for the best is guess, a lot of the time their weekend personnel are less than great.
Thanks for the prayers and good wishes everyone. They are saying today is the day of the surgery finally, if they don't find some other reason to put it off again. Scheduled for 1pm today. I'll be glad when they get this done, hopefully if solves his current problem. I think he'll make it through surgery, I'm afraid he'll have trouble coming off the respirator. Don't mind admitting this has me scared. Everyone take care out there today.
Surgery went super smooth! Dad is off the respirator and doing well. Things seem good right now, he's already been on his feet.
Thanks guys. Dad has been back home for a while now, still not doing all that great but that's just kind of the harsh reality of his condition from smoking for decades. Have to enjoy them while we have them and try to keep them as long as possible. Sucks to watch your parents get old....
