About two weeks ago, my mom found out her best friend had ovarian cancer. The doctor's believed it to have begun formation about a year ago. She was fortunate enough to be able to get right in to a specialist, and have a hysterectomy done. The doctor's removed 98% of the tumor. However, they got the results back from the biopsy, and it's epithelial, not granulocis (sp?) which would have been better news. I'm not sure what this means in terms of recovery or life expectancy, but it's a terrible thing to think about people having to go through. She babysat me for years, and our families have been vacationing together for over 15 years, so it's hitting pretty close to home. I'm asking that you guys/girls keep her in your prayers. She's only in her mid-50's, and she still has a lot of life to live. Thanks.
Prayers are sent bud, two of my aunts had breast cancer and another had ovarian cancer. I have seen the effects that it has on people. The big thing is to keep spirits up and for everybody to let her know that she is going to beat it. Thankfully all 3 of my aunts surguries went great and they have no signs of cancer now.
Thanks, guys, I really appreciate it. She's not technically family, but I can't keep from thinking about what it must be like for her and husband especially. The fact that I'm going to be getting married soon also has me thinking about me being in that situation, and what I would do. But Jason, you're right, everyone just needs to stay positive and supportive through this. She's a fighter, and we need to be, too. Thanks guys.
Will do boss. It is nice to have people like you guys around. Even nicer to have a place that you can go to vent these things out. Prayers sent.
