I IMO the media is creating this. 24/7 Tebow coverage on EVERY sports show. It is amazing what he's done (however its happening... which I don't fully understand yet). But, a sports fan can only take so much of this guy being shoved down our throats. Again... props to what hes doing, but enough is enough. Cover it with its proper time and talk and move on to the other 50 stories in sports.
On second thought... it does take the spotlight away from that Rock on Tebow!!!!!! Give me more!!!!!! Start an entire network for him!!!! woot!
Prater > Tebow....for that game that's fine but counterpoint is this: Tebow=Winning and Winning=Tebow
My whole problem with the Tebow talk is the entire contradiction that everybody has about "giving credit". EVERY quarterback is given credit for winning or loosing.....except Tebow. When his team wins its "because of this or that" but if the team looses its all his fault. The guy is winning, no matter how its done give him the credit that you would for Brady, Rodgers, Roethlisburger, Manning, or Brees if they were in the same situation.
No one doubts that he's winning, and that he has some part in that. The problem lies in the media pegging him as the second coming of Christ. I'm willing to bet that Denver's entire defense are getting pretty sick and tired of him getting all the credit for the wins when they deserve just as much credit. I, for one, am not ready to drink the Tim Tebow kool-aid quite yet, there are a lot more factors here than him.
I think you should read the following quote from you on a past thread. "Just looking to ruffle a few of you meathead football fan's feathers, seems to be working! " I thought all you cared about was college basketball once that season started? You seem to care about other sports afterall.
My Sr year football we had the first winning record in like 20 years, we had 5 seniors on our team. We had a really good JR class, but what worked was the belief we had in our coach and the system. Belief is a powerful tool
How about when Orton/Grossman won a bunch of games for the Bears when they made the Superbowl in 2005...or Dilfer for the Superbowl champ Ravens in 2000? As far as the comparison to the best QB's in the NFL...really???
The problem here is (while I partially agree) it IS different with Tebow. You can't deny the fact of the way they are winning. Running the football with Mcgahee, defense, and special teams combined with a qb rating from Tebow of what I think averages around 30 or so (until the 4th quarter). There are simply other factors keeping these games close for him to scratch out at the end. You can cite every game where either the defense, running game, or special teams kept the Broncos close. However I do kind of agree. The world is on your shoulders and you are to blame when your team loses whether it's your fault or not, so the flipside should be the same....... i guess.
Tebow has Vulcan mind altering capabilities is the latest I've heard. He willed Barber to go out of bounds and fumble. He rubbed Praters leg and gave him superhuman strength for 10 minutes. Amazing really!
Tim Tebow is exactly why QB Ratings are a joke at evaluating a player. incomplete passes factor in way too much when they don't terribly impact the game. Turnovers lose the game. Control the ball to keep your D fresh and wear theirs down, and you will usually come out victorious. McGahee ran 17 times for 34 yards and 0 touchdowns against the Bears. If anything, they are winning by running with their QB...as Urlacher tried to insultingly suggest.
