When shooting what size of grouping are u looking for. I know everyone is going to be different but I like mine about the size of a half dollar but that group sizes varies from time to time to about 2 in group
For compound shooters I think the average hunter should be looking for the benchmark of 1" radius @ 10 yards, 2" radius @ 20 yards and 3" radius @ 30yards.
Typically I like to get them as small as possible, but I always try to remember how big a deer's vitals are as well. That being said, if I'm hitting a 3" circle at 40-yards I'm okay.
NONE!! I was shooting 6 arrows at a time. From 40yd I was grouping between 3"-4" the closer I shoot the tighter they would get. This was tearing up arrows bad. I went from 10 arrows left from a dozzen (2 broke 1 of which I shot through shooting different angels) down to 7 in two 30 min sessions. I tore the veins off of these three. I went through a half dozen knocks durring these two days also. I have been lucky to not have had a Robbin Hood. I am happy with my shooting for now. So what I do is try to hit speciffic places in the vitals on my 3D target at different distances. Heart, top of lungs, bottom of lungs, liver and for fun I give it an ear ring every now and then. I am also shooting from longer distances using only three pins now. I am hitting the vitals 80% of the time from 65yd and every time from 50yd on in. Now I am focussing on taking different shots to prep for hunting.
