when you practice with the spitfire broadhead do you have to replace the retention clip? I bought some gobbler getters and I want to know how they fly before I stick a tom!

I have only replaced the clips when I put new blades on.

so your saying I could use one strictly for practice without having to worry about the blades coming open in flight?

Yes, I have shot them same head numerous times. In fact I have killed three or four deer with same spitfire edge, just cleaned it and reused it.

Keep an eye on the clips to be on the safe side, and you can adjust the tension of them with a small eye glass screw driver but slightly bending the clip to tighten them.

5 would be really conservative, just keep an eye on them and use common sense...other then testing them for POI at various ranges there is really no reason to shoot them unless your shooting at an animal...so it's not like your taking 50 shots with one head.
