Ok so last two times I go out in the stand I use the typical cover deer herd in a stick on my boots walking in. I also bring a spray bottle of Tinks Power Scrape in just in case there's a fresh Scrape by my stand so I can hit it. Last two times I don't know why but I decided I was going to spray power Scrape on my soles the last 50 yards or so to finish the walk in. First hunt I also sprayed it on some vegetation about 17 yards out in a shooting lane. That evening I had several deer come right in my zone down wind of me and stand there broadside at 17 yards. I shot a doe that night while she was sniffing the power Scrape. Then yesterday I decided I would try it again so going to a different stand I spray the soles of my boots then walk in. Then I sprayed some vegetation at a 20 yard opening this time up wind. Then I walked to my stand and left the Tinks spray bottle at the bottom of the tree. Would you know a small buck comes out finds the spot I sprayed then follows my footsteps right up to the tree and sniffs the spray bottle. He then proceeded to walk slowly and comfortably down wind offering me several good shot opportunities. I know they weren't big mature bucks, but I was surprised at how curious they were to follow that power Scrape scent. I am going g to continue to expirement with it. Just thought I would share and see if anyone else used Power Scrape for more than just mock scrapes.
I have never used the stuff but I just started using the herd in a stick(Evercalm). I'm definitely liking the stuff and it literally smells just like a deer
Yep the ever calm is definitely part of my scent control regime...I spray the crap out of my boots with scent-way then just rub some deer herd in a stick across the sole of my boots...I am always amazed at how the deer will use the trails I use walking in. Seems to work quite well.
