As some of you know, I hunt public land. Found a real good spot that has a good 'funnel' area. I started hunting this area on Sunday afternoon. I hunted again last night and again tonight. I did move my stand closer to this 'funnel' spot. Seen quite a few deer that first night, but due to the thick cover in this area, I could hear them but not see them. Until tonight anyway. Well, I only seen one, a little spike.
I should mention that, on the first night, one did blow at me. Don't know if it scented me or if it seen me moving. Don't know. Last night, while climbing down the tree in the dark, heard one take off because I made a little bit of noise with the stand. Had no issues tonight.
So, my question is, how many nights can I hit this area without putting the deer in nocturnal mode? I try to get in early enough so as not to spook anything out of there. Thanks everyone.

If you have hunted the same stand 3 times in the last 3 days, I would say you're using it too much. Those deer will quickly catch on, especially after noticing you in the area. They will either avoid the area you're hunting or become more nocturnal like you said.

Outside the rut if you're hunting a spot more than once every two or three weeks its over hunted.

Sounds like it is a little excessive. Especially on public land. It is hard to say who is hunting the same area.
    Good luck.
