Part of the governments responsibility is to protect it's citizens. That's kinda the whole point of having an organized government.
You don't have to get it and you can twist my words around in your mind but just don't hold your breath :-/
I'm not twisting your words. I'm stating what you believe in, whether you are willing to admit it or not. Nanny state is a term that conveys a view that a government or its policies are overprotective or interfering unduly with personal choice
I think you missed my point. Why would you, or anyone for that matter care if I wear my seatbelt. However there is a law that says I have to for my own good. I see it the same way with reefer. Why should you or anyone care care if I smoke the stuff as long as it's not effecting you?
Think about this, cars have thousands of dollars of safety features, mostly mandated by the gov. Yet someone on a motorcycle can wear shorts and a shirt and have 0 safety equipment and not break law. Why?
gateway drug addiction collapse of society etc the same tired talking points that have all been disproven time and time again
I'll help Afflicted and Skywalker out. A point they should bring up is the potential medical and incarceration costs surrounding abusing these products . Now it effects everyone and becomes a little bit stronger position. Just a little bit though. Just stoking the fire.
If healthcare worked like it should, if you choose to smoke regularly, your healthcare should go up. And I doubt the incarceration costs would go up. They would most assuredly go down if weed were made legal.
I sometimes wish you would post something that actually meant something... ...but then I don't at the same time
