Yes. It's a big gamble Imo If you were to legalize all drugs. Will people be responsible enough? China sure got ****ed up with their opium. I think it had to do with international imperialism adding to it to try and ruin it, but with the way people are being raised now, I don't think it's a good idea to legalize everything.

Because drugs like heroin, cocaine and meth are so addictive and people have major cravings for the drugs once started - I agree, I don't think it would be a good idea. I know of five people just in my area who died this year from a heroin OD; and I think the number is higher than that - just in 2014. They were 21-28 years old. I'd love to think if it was legal it wouldn't be done by as many, but I don't forsee that happening.

Kids are drawn to the allure of cool and are easily swayed by other kids. No matter how well you raise your child, you can't be around them all the time and you can't stop peer pressure.

That if it were legal and readily available, more people would be dying from over doses. Some of these people may be the innocent ones who wanted to try it (or got pressured into it)...then become addicted.

Being an EMT - I've seen effects from many drugs. We were dispatched to an unresponsive person. Ended up being a guy on a high from meth who happened to just be out of it. We ended up following him through a swamp - just to have state police taze him. If all of the drugs listed were legal, I feel it'd put more people at risk. Like the ones who have to go save the sorry person.

It would still be illegal for kids. And no responsible person would go out and start using meth if it was made legal today.

If you want to try meth or heroine or whatever, you can today.

It's funny, everyone agrees that we are losing the War on Drugs but no one wants to try anything different.

If it's available to the wide open public, kids would be able to get it. Much like alcohol. Many responsible kids go out and try hard drugs. Many.

I don't have a solution to the war on drugs. I don't think full legalization is key, really fighting from individual families and communities is the only way

[Most] Responsible adults wouldn't, you're correct. But it's the peer pressure on the younger generation who would be able to get it from someone of age. Heck, how many people under 21 can easily get alcohol? It'd be easily attainable like that.

I am okay with trying things to help "war on drugs" - I think allowing marijuana to be legal is a good start.

comparing Marijuana to Heroin or Cocaine is kinda asinine IMO, Its hard to compare a addictive drug to a non addictive one, obviously.

Im still waiting for someone to bring up some case of pot overdose....

Only brought it up because it was brought up prior.

Yup. And it's highly taboo and kids still do it. Responsible kids good students. If it were more readily available I'd have to think more kids would, though I don't know how big of an increase it would br.

The facts are it is harder for kids to get beer then it is pot but I would add a stiffer penalty for anyone serving weed to an underage person. Make it so strong that it wouldn't be worth the risk.

Definitely fact. I remember trying to get beer under 21. Difficult as hell, weed, never did it but I knew how to get it. It's always worth the risk, look at people who still do crimes with stiff penalties. Those are only the ones who get caught, tons more who go free.
