Freedom, that is what all us vets served for.I do not smoke but I know a few people who do all the time. Those said people used to be pretty darn intellectual and after years of smoking marijuana they are half retarded. They should be free to burn up their brains if they please and nobody (government) should have any say.Government needs to get out of our business.
Saddle this mare back up boys, 25 pages and we are almost there, in the end I hope we all agree on everything and break out in song. "Sometimes I feel like Jesse James.. Still tryin ta make a name... knowing nothins gonna change the way I feel.." Carry On, and I will order the pizza...
Seriously: My take on pot: Pot can not be related to guns for discussion sake. Pot is possibly relatable to alcohol as a consumable. States vote and the people decide..hopefully for the benefit of that State. I do not believe that pot is going to go unregulated in due time due to the demand present and monetary value it holds. I believe that substance abuse is a problem. Voting in your State will ease your mind but the results may not be what some expect, you tried. The Nation had issues with prohibition and it certainty will with "new" capitalizing prospects that emerge regardless of the reason. Cash is King in America The love of money is the root of all evil. The substance abuser will allow me to Take his job, thus ending his life. Legalizing marijuana will hold fallout in many forms and to profit at another's demise is shameful. As for doctors and patients, well that is none of my business.
You would be surprised at how many people is very high positions smoke pot. I can guarantee that a doctor you have seen at some point in your life smoked pot on a regular basis. Smoking pot doesn't make you lazy. Its just that a lot of people that smoke were lazy to begin with.
As the great Bill Hicks said "nobody gets hurt when they're driving stoned. They are only going 5 miles an hour"
Multiple studies say differently, but hey if that science doesn't meet up with your way of thinking, then you can just disregard the findings. That seems to be the status quo these days. Everyone keeps stating that weed doesn't have adverse affects on people, yet do not provide any scientific evidence to back that up. Only anecdotal evidence. Well I know a guy.......
Well then I don't understand, you seem to think enacting laws will stop human greed? Link a study that says it's worse than alcohol or cigarettes. You need to meet a wider range of people, I know very many smart people who smoked Pot and do pot. Many geniuses do drugs, many smart scientists do drugs. Get out of your bubble.
Legalize it and tax it, kind of a good idea I guess. Then again the goverment will just piss all that money + more giving it out to the useless of the world. I don't have any problems with someone who wants to get high versus getting drunk, I see no difference. Lets face it though, the only reason this stuff is being legalized is because big brother wants in on the financial action.
The vast majority of people that drink do so responsibly, the same as drivers, and gun owners and even though we have those who abuse freedoms and these are the ones who make the news, most of us go through life with few real detriments, I think a lot of Americans would be shocked to know just how many people smoke weed and function just fine every weekend.
I think the argument makes sense, that, even if it is harmful to the individual, one should have the choice, just as one has with alcohol, to use or not. You could apply the same restrictions to weed that apply to alcohol, no smoking on the job, no coming to work stoned, no driving while smoking, etc. There is one problem though. The residue of smoking stays in the body longer than alcohol. How do you show that you haven't smoked since yesterday? One question remains in my mind though. If you apply this libertarian thinking to weed, should we also apply it to cocaine, heroin, amphetamines?
