.... I would not care if my parents, siblings, cousins, etc started smoking weed tomorrow. I would not care one bit. As for my children, I would treat weed just like I would alcohol. Everything in moderation and enjoy responsibly.
A free world where I'm able to do as I please if it does not affect others or their property. I had no idea this was a radical idea. You are the minute you vote "no" to legalize it.
It DOESN'T matter if weed has negative health affects. That is absolutely irrelevant for this discussion.
Any your imposing your beliefs the moment you vote "yes", so what's the difference. That's how democracy works. Some people get their way, while others do not.
Wow...just wow Dude, I'm sorry, but your rationale is so frightening to me and just pure hypocrisy. If you think someone voting for the freedom of choice is imposing their beliefs on you, then you are beyond help.
The fact that you feel that people using drugs doesn't negatively affect other people is what blows my mind.
You're like a little baby, you need to chill out. Sorry I didn't make myself clear, but tell me how marijuana is so much worse than cigarettes and alcohol or other legal drugs and effects others so adversely that it needs to remain illegal? Obviously alcohol is bad for you as so is cigarettes so asking for articles and studies on why cannabis is bad was a stupid request. You're not dumb for having your opinion, you just need to stop remaining ignorant of history and facts. Dont be so hard on yourself. Maybe go smoke a blunt.
I'm still LOLing at the scenario where a meth dealer gets someone hooked on weed first before pulling the classic switcharoo. That sounds more fit for a badly animated reddit GIF... Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I even respect the opinion of thinking weed should be illegal.... So long as alcohol is as well. I disagree with the mindset, but at least it isn't hypocritical (still is slightly but I'll digress).
The minute you get in your car to go some funyus it now affects me. There are facts that prove a lack of response time, motor skills and cognitive function while someone is under the influence of weed. Impaired drivers are a problem for me, on top of that the fact that there is no immediate sobriety test to prove that someone is under the influence. You can't tell me that people will only sit at home and smoke pot, they will drive under the influence just like they do with alcohol.
I don't respect that opinion at all. I find it quite dangerous and frightening how some on this site are willing to give up their freedoms. I guess when/if the day comes that the government does actually come for their guns, they will smile and gladly give them up because hey, sometimes you just don't get your way. That is how democracy works, right?
I truly hope you don't think this is true... I'll admit that I used to smoke marijuana, and I never had one thought to do meth, nor had one dealer ask me to buy it.
So I'm just supposed to assume that people will only smoke weed in their own home and never drive while under the influence? Never make bad decisions that affect other people while under the influence. If that's the case, I'll change my stance.
No different with alcohol, cigarettes, prescription drugs/OTC drugs. People do this all the time. Hypocrisy.
It's for the better good of the people and the government will provide for the protection of it's citizens.
I'm sure they will, and that will be against the law and will have consequences. And I'm in favor of increasing those consequences to make people think twice about making those poor decisions. That is all I'm asking. Give people a choice. Let them be responsible for their own actions. You want to remove that choice all together which denies responsible people freedoms. What is the common argument against gun control? Criminals will still be criminals, gun control just harms the responsible gun owner?
No but you're saying that one will impair it, when all the rest do just the same if not worse. Your argument goes out the window when you try to claim that one is so bad and it should be illegal when the rest are legal and are just as bad. Not quite sure if you understand that logic yet.
