Killed this guy on 11/17/08 at 3:17pm, 1st time in this tree, grunted him in, watched him make a rub then grunted again and him came into 10 yards, double lunged him he went maybe 15 yards and fell over dead. I was in my stand for about 35 minutes total! My buck of a lifetime, he'll be on the wall in 2 months! 1st year hunting with a Longbow, 1st deer killed with my Longbow and 1st bow killed buck ever!

Thats me!!! The last big game animals I killed on public land are bear in 2003 and deer in ???? Pretty much all me deer hunting down here is done on private and I mostly rifle hunted Ontario up until the last couple years.

Black bear in northern wisconsin, September of 08. 15 yard shot,went about 30 yards and just rolled. This was a total do it yourself hunt. Did all of the scouting, baiting and everything. 1st bear I've ever shot.

Minnesota Black Bear taken 9/5/07 In Northern Minnesota on Public Land. I do all my own stuff, no guides here and It's always Public Land while hunting bear. 2 days before my hunt was going to end I heard a crack about 40 yards away from me and my bait about 10 minutes before shooting light would expire. He came In and had no clue I was anywhere In the area. He gave me a 16 to 17 yard shot and I drilled both lungs and the top of the heart and he ran off 35 yards and piled up. He dressed out at 150lbs even. I figured he was a 3.5 year old. I should add that on my way In to my stand I spooked something about 15 yards In front of me on the trail but It was way to thick to see what It was. I'm guessing It was a sow and a cub, sounded like more then one bear so my heart was pumping a little bit more then usual before I even made It to my stand that evening.
I don't have a pic I can find. It was a turkey 2 years ago taken with a BP shotgun. Thats my only public land animal.
