I work for Steelville Manufacturing Co., a machine shop which supplies parts for military aircraft such as F-15, F-18 C-17 etc. A lot of our work is with sheet metal and we probably work with 98% aluminum alloy material. Our biggest customer is Boeing and almost all of our business is through government contracts rather than commercial dealings although some of our customers are not in military defense field. We run 4 waterjet cutters, 4 CNC lathes, 6 machining centers, 6 CNC mills which includes two new 5 axis mills we are in the process of getting up and running. I work for Duke Energy, at one of the Nations largest coal fired power plants. Im a Mechanic/Operator on the production team. Because of the poor economy this is the first year we have shut down units on a regular basis on week ends because there was no where to send the power that we can put out, because of buisnesses shutting down and the cool summer we had.
