My #1 Buck I call FullHouse made it through the season at Property #2. Got to get the Mineral site started. Can't wait to see what he will look like this year!

Pulled my last two cameras this weekend. My #2 buck made it, and I've got another interesting 8 that could be good in a year or 2. I had blurry pics of #2 on Jan 16, the day my batteries died. Several pics of the 8. He's a pretty young deer, could get interesting. #2 is at least 5. He might get more mass, but I don't expect much more in inches. IMAG0317.jpg IMAG0328.jpg

Jumping Jeremiah the bullfrog on a pogo stick. That dude is a beast. I hope you get to put your hands around his horns. Good luck.

Good luck on that beast this year Sammy boy!
Well I about had a heart attack yesterday. I was driving around looking for sheds and dead deer and happened across a dead buck and for a second I thought it was the big nine I posted pics of earlier in this thread. I think it was a yote kill but as it turned out it was a different deer, I realized pretty quick it wasn't big enough to be the one I thought it was. Then I thought it was a buck I call Jaws and then realized after looking at pics when I got home it wasn't him either. So, I'm not sure who the dead one was/is.

After pulling cards and checking them, man we have a lot of new bucks roaming around that I've never seen before. Sad to lose the one to yotes because he was decent and not old but it seems there have been other to fill the spot. We'll see which of them hang around for 16. I'll post some of the new ones here in a few days. Photobucket hasn't been working worth a crap the past few days.

Glad the listers are ok. I know how it feels to think you've lost one. I might need to pull an "elkguide" and go help Covey with a few of those deer. Ps you are more than welcome to come down to GA and try a different bit of scenery. Lol

Haha, thanks but I don't like to travel very much.
I have a couple of hit listers that I have not seen lately but as far as I know they weren't killed unless the yotes or poachers got them or something. My main one, Bone-afied...I had him on camera after season closed but he's pretty old. I think I had him on yesterdays pull but had shed and no real identifying marks except a small looking head. Then Maverick, a neighbor wanted to shoot him but I asked to hold off on him until next year because he was 4.5 this year and busted his left main beam in half. I thought it a waste to take him early and busted up. But he disappeared anyway, neighbor says he didn't take him so hopefully he's still on the hoof somewhere... Also the split G4 buck has not been seen lately but he pretty much stays on the neighbor to the south.

Here's the only late season buck pic I've gotten so far. He's got some busted points, but he might turn out decent next season.
And here's the bed I believe he was using for the duration of the Blizzard of 2016. This bed is literally 15' from where he is in that pic.

It looks like you guys need a little more snow up there. We just got lucky on the storm going by now. It missed us to the NW. We ended up on the rain side of it.
Hopefully you get a shot at him next year.

So far all is well with the bucks we were watching. Big Boy that is really nice 10 that is practically twins to the buck I shot 2 seasons ago that scored 174 1/8" is still on the hoof. My father-in-law keeps us posted on him. There is another 9 that had 3 of his tines broke that is still going. IF he would've had all of his tines he would go in the low 140's. There is yet another one that is really wide. I don't have the greatest of close-up pic's of this one. Really nice deer. Looks to be in the 3.5-4.5 age range.
At our place there are a few good ones that could be on the shooter list next year. One that we found a shed from goes in the low 140's. He is still roaming around. There are a couple other good ones that go from 130-150. The weather hasn't been very cold so it is tough keeping track of them right now. They seem to be moving around quite a bit, especially after dark.

I just re-read my last post, maybe I should apply a disclaimer before someone jumps my case about asking a neighbor to hold off on a deer he wanted to shoot. We share management plans and goals for the most part but he's still a deer hunter and prone to trend towards shooting a big buck. I don't try to dictate what he and his family shoot but I try to encourage a shared strategy to manage for the best potential out of our shared deer. He agreed with my opinion and agreed to not target that buck. His son shot a really nice young nine point in youth season and we were all happy so there's give and take. Just in case someone took that last post as being something it's not.

Never even gave it a second thought Covey. There are times that things are misunderstood on here. I'm sure if people see your posts that would never be the case with you.
