So how many of you did some post season scouting? Im mainly talking about directly after the season checking out areas you dont normally hunt in but hunt close to? To me thats the best time to get in there where you know a Big boy might living in but would have possably bumped him out during the season. I have a couple new places picked out im excited to try out. I also dont normally hunt public land but foind a place that looks killer. Me and my son found 2 Sheds in there from 2 different bucks that will go P&Y. The wildlife biologist had told me a while back that Id be pressed to find a P&Y Buck on there public land ;) But the off season season scouting tells me different. What you all been doing?

I didn't go right after season but in the spring before greenup I put on close to 40 miles scouting. I'm excited about my setups for this fall!

I did. Learned a lot more about a particular farm that we started hunting last season. Hopefully it pays off this fall!

I do scout year round. But I feel my very best scouting trips take place right after the season closes, especially if we get a bit of snow. I tend to have a lot of those "oh... so thats where they've been all this time" moments.

I spend quite a bit of time walking trails after the season is over, shed hunting as well as trying to find all the heaviest travel corridors. Haven't have much luck shed hunting the last couple years but my last 2 bucks both came off of new stand locations based on that post season scouting.

I never stopped. I found some interesting finds in the snow we had. We don't get much so when we did, I was out in it.

I spent some extreme time post season scouting this year. On one of my newer properties, I knew I wasnt going to run trail cameras on it due to the size of this property and the amount of deer that spend time on it. So I knew I had to learn the property as much as I could and also needed to find the sheds I was looking for. If it wasnt for post season scouting, I wouldnt have much confidence going into this fall on the properties I hunt.
