What does your bow do just after you release? What should it do? I am just curious if my form is off. The top of my bow seems to come back a little and then the bow tilts off to the right (I am right handed).
Sorry, couldnt resist. My post release sounds similar to yours except that my bow tends to then tip pretty much straight forward.
Ideally it should be balanced so that it falls away from you but with modern drop away rests it's less critical than it used to be with the old spring rests. If it's a hunting bow and doesn't have a lot of stabilizer length or weight then what you describe sounds typical.
What the bow does after release can be modified by a proper stabilizer setup. What's important is what you are doing with your bow hand. Below is a video my coach took of me several years ago, you can see pretty well what's happening with my bow and release hand if you watch. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v...d Form Pics/?action=view¤t=24958d05.mp4
It is a hunting setup and I have a short Limbsaver stabilizer on it. Not much weight out there to pull the bow down.
