So for the last few days I've been experiencing a good deal of pain in my left wrist, radiating down the forearm. Along with some numbness in my left pinky and ring finger. I've never broken this wrist, but I do fight left handed. I'm wondering, do any of you target archers have this problem? I've read about bicep/cheast/sholder injuries on the draw arm.... but never heard of anything on the bow arm. Is this indicidive of an overuse injury or possibly a cyst? I'm wondering if i can get by with rest and ice or if I need to get this taken care of.

Obamacare sucks, dont want to use my insurance unless i have to.

Well... considering you "fight" with your left hand... I would look more in that direction than archery.

if you hurt it striking something you should stop shooting and get it looked at. no need to hurt yourself more.

I'd get it looked at. Were you in a fight?

Anyway I had a dislocated elbow once that caused numbness and wrist pain for months. Chiropractor fixed it in 2 seconds... man; resetting it hurt but the pain never returned after he popped it back in place.

sounds like you might have some ulnar nerve issues. Get it looked at and until then ice the elbow and wrist.

Yeah see thats what I thought but I've never heard of the ulnar being affected from archery. Theres some localized swelling which leads me to believe it might be a tendon issue where the swelling is making it press on the ulnar. This could also be caused by a cyst or pocket of fluid that might have formed due to a shock of some sort. I'd kind of like to pierce it to see if theres a pocket of fluid but that part of your wrist has a large cluster of nerves plus the radial so i'm kind of hesitant to attempt it.

Wish MRI's werent so damn expensive. I've been treating with 10mg mobic daily but pain seems to be at a constant and no reduction in swelling.

Tendinitis, try semi immobilizing it for a couple weeks with a soft brace that has hard underside...from the palm to above your wrist. I would see improvement after a couple weeks, then I wouldn't use the brace and it would re lapse....Took about 3 months for it fully heal.

horus, when was the first time you felt pain in your left wrist? After what activity? And when you say you fight with your left hand do you mean it is your power hand or your jab hand?

Ok. What did you do the day before or days before you woke up with that pain in your wrist?
