Hey I'm looking for some opinions on this idea I came up with. I have always wanted to be able to hunt with a limbdriver but never liked how it wasn't full containment. I am using a NAP Apache and before that a Trophy Taker FC rest but still don't overly like all the room the arrow has to move. So this is what I came up with. You can turn the bow back and forth without it moving anywhere, you can even turn it over slowly without any issues but if you bounce it a little upsidedown than the arrow will fall out. Do you think I would have any arrow contact issues? Any opinions appreciated.

I just bent it out of some aluminum cladding that I had around and wrapped it with moleskin and even attached it to the riser with moleskin for now just to test it out. I'll probably use some good quality 2 sided tape to hold it down for good.

Vapor Trail has a New Full containment rest this year called the ProV. The LD really is the best drop away rest I have ever used, setup, or sold IMO.

Although I don't feel the need for full containment I will probably have a ProV on one of my bows just so customers can see how they work and I can give an opinion from first hand experience.

I like what you got but I think it is still operating off the cables not the best option IMO. As far as you getting clearance that question should be pretty easy to answer once you start shooting. Nice Thinking!! :)

I saw the pro-v but was never sure if the way it drops would effect the arrow as it drops from the side and not straight down. I love the way the limbdriver works which is why I am most likely putting a TT smackdown on my new bow but I just recently heard that there could be issues with a wrist sling hitting the down cable. That's what made me think of something like this. If it works with my NAP and I find I don't need a containment ring I might just go with a limbdriver instead of the smackdown. The AAE prodrop also looks to be pretty good.

I've hunted with the Limb Driver the past 4 seasons (granted 95% of my hunting is done from a stand or blind) but I have never seen a time when I thought "Dang I wish I had full containment"

I don't even use the capture blade :)

I do think the ProV will be a big seller because it will provide a lot of guys peace of mind. Knowing Steve & Jarrod I am sure it will perform flawlessly but...............................

    I should know soon!! :)

I just did 10 or so shots in my basement and had no issues what so ever with contact. Its actually a very easy yet effective setup.

Most of my hunting is either spot and stalk mule deer or elk hunting so I do like the containment. Once I get my little arrow holder held down better it will work really well I think. Considering it was practically free it will save me a bit of hassles out in the field.

If anyone wants a picture of a bare metal one just let me know. I could even show you how I bent it but I think it's pretty self explanatory.

I like the looks of it!
I posted a question about this last week - if I get a new bow I was eyeing the Apache - but the Huge downside was not having full containment for stalks...I will keep this in mind.

I use something similar and I can't see hunting without it. It is so nice to be able to walk through brush and trees and not have to worry about my arrow moving all over.

I ended up ordering. TT smackdown for y new bow still but will definately be putting one of these on it aswell. It just works well and is simple and free.
