    Good Morning all!!!

I was thinking of buying a nice and light hang on stand. I have bought a couple of heavier inexpensive hang on stands and ladder sticks recently that I can hang and leave but I am in the market for a lighter and more durable stand that I can pack in and out with minimal struggle. I have several options in mind such as Lone Wolf, Muddy Outdoors, Ol' Man, Gorilla and Summit but was wanting to get your opinion on what would be best. I am expecting that Lone Wolf will be a front runner but let's see what comes about.

I am also aware that these type and quality of stands are not cheap and am willing to pay for one. Ladder sticks are also a factor in the equation and I have less knowledge of them. I have mostly used self climbers and love my Ol' Man...Thanks folks.

Once you sit in the Millennium M-100 you will never want anything else. It's not really heavy or hard to pack, it has straps. One thing I have noticed over nearly 3 decades of stand hunting. I sit in them far longer then I pack them. I'll take a more comfortable stand that might be a bit heavy or Difficult to hang any day over one that is easy to pack.

The Millennium is a brilliant design that I don't think can be beat by any Manufacturer today. Your big problem will be staying awake in it!

I am in the same situation as you are. I'm waiting until the spring to buy a set though.

I have been looking at the muddy hunter. It's the largest platform at 34 x 20 and only weighs 12.5 pounds. Also, it comes in much cheaper than the lone wolf at 199.

However, what I have not compared is ease of hanging. Does the lone wolf have something that makes it a ton easier to hang, that I don't know.
There are a LOT of lone wolf users on this site that will give plenty of info.

    portable stand

if you already have some stands that you like and want to be able to move them from tree to tree you may want to check out Hang on buddy.com it alouds you to leave the hang on device on the tree with your sticks and move the stand around. very easy to hang also and doesn't make alot of noise.

I've posted this thread before and almost everyone posted bout how great the Lone Wolf stands were. 250 bucks is a lot for a stand but with 11 pounds in weight, can hold 350 pounds, has an ez hookup, leveling seat and platform, and a bow holder you really can't go wrong. I don't own one but plan to before next season. Everyone talks bout how sturdy they are, how versatile they are from tree to tree and how quiet they are. Do yourself a favor and look into a Lone Wolf.

I'd recommend my Loggy Predator to anyone. Real easy to hang & light weight.

Bought a Muddy and sent it back the next day. Foot rest feels like the bolts are going to snap off and the seat compact down to nothing.

Like my LW but changes the seat out for a gorilla seat with backrest.

PS. I have 4 new LW sticks I'm selling for the cost of 3 plus shipping if anyone is in need of some.

Well I went with the Muddy Hunter Pro Hang on...price was less than the Lone Wolf, it had a ratchet strap on the top and was a little lighter. Both were what I expected and have nothing against Lone Wolf just was trying to save some coin...LOL...I will let you know how it goes with it as I am off all next week and will be using it a good deal. Thanks again folks!

I was in the same situation as you. My brother had a Millennium stand and talked me into getting one. Best decision on a stand I ever made. I just bought a few more receivers for it and leave them out all the time. I don't mind the chain going around the tree at all. Some others don't like it, but I prefer a chain to a strap. I also bought some lonewolf climbing sticks. They were nice, but I returned them and got the Muddy sticks. I absolutely love the muddy sticks. I got them because of the steps being on both sides. I really, really like the rope going around the tree and the connection they have. LW was good, but the Muddy's are awesome. Just my .02. Good luck with your choice.

I'd wager these were the best purchases I ever made. When Loggy went under a few years back, I bought them on clearance for $70!! Bought the Muddy seat cushion for them for about $20....So for $90 I have a stand as light and solid as a LW, with a 10x more comfortable seat. Love, love, love em.

I use lone wolf alpha's primarily. They are the only stands I buy anymore. Best there is, as far as I'm concerned.

I just bought 2 Guide Gear hang on stands from amazon. $30 each and they seem to be strong and lightweight. Only been up in the stand once but I have no complaints so far. Especially for the price!

Just make sure you wear a harness at all times, and stand selection gets reduced to huntability. At least that's how it is for me. Strength is obviously a factor... but prior to hunting lone-wolf's for 2 years, if you would have told me that molded aluminum could hold me up... I'd have called you a liar! :)

Have a couple of summits and LOVE them, but they don't work everywhere. this year added a Lone Wolf, and also added the Muddy steps. Will add another setup just like that for next year without a doubt. Summit and Lone Wolf/Muddy for us.
