while scounting, i found an old port-a-potty in the woods (dont worry it wasnt used). being that it was alredy dark brown in color, i thot mabey i could use it a a box blind, i have camo mesh and camo tape, and was wondering what everyone thinks of this idea. i alredy went inside and practice drew my imaginary bow, seem like it has plenty of room to shoot, i would cut some hole in it for windows and then put some camo netting over the holes, with clips so i can shoot through the windows, what dose every one think of this idea?

Sounds crazy enough that it just might work. Haha. Good luck.

Is this on public ground? I hate to think what you might walk into in the dark.

Interesting post but has me wondering two things. Why is a new unused porta-potty out in the woods and secondly how big is this thing? I have never seen one big enough to hunt out of especially with a bow.

Have you ever seen those ones that are handi cap accesible. They are pretty big.

You might see if there is a name of the company that owns it, The reward might get you a new blind of your choice. Sounds like some kids stole it and left it abandoned.

the reason its there, i think, is because there used to be construction here about 2 years ago, but it was left, and yes it acctually is a handi capped one so its bigger than even real box blinds, on my next scouting trip prob. this weekend, im gonna cut some lanes and set up some trail cams in the area so i dont have to move the thing.

I would call the company thats on it and make sure that they are out of business before you modify it in anyway just in case. then if they are you can buy a damaged vinyl window or 2 to put in it for shooting windows and help keep you warm in the winter. I think it would be a great box blind.

I would build a blind out of branches before I would sit in a crapper. I hunt to enjoy the outdoors, which would be pretty hard for me to do from a plastic outhouse.

Man some person is going to come across that thing and they are not going to have the same moral core as you and you know the rest. if it's not on your private property I'll say just leave that thing where you've found it.

    just stick with what works.

Me too. Not a great idea imo.

Just get a portable camo blind. You can move that around and reposition it.

Port a Johns have become very popular for hunting around here...The regular ones work just fine for rifle hunting but not for bowhunting. They do come in different sizes though so it could work....
