I thought we beat this horse to death...why the **** does anything that AIDS IN RECOVERY get "looked down on" by the elitists!?

It doesn't alter the pre shot ONE BIT! You can use them with recurves!

Just enter them in the more "elite" BC book.
PY took awhile to go to 80% let off. Should they go to 100% and allow xbows?

I wouldn't even bother arguing, except for the point that has been brought up repeatedly about P&Y being a HUGE advocate for the sport. At what point should they start treating archers as equals in order to better our sport? Crossbows are not in this discussion (they are a separate category just like guns) and either are GPS guided broadheads because i don't read science fiction.

Lighted nocks? Is that really going to ruin the integrity of the holier then though P&Y book? Or are they just worried about getting watered down with more deer?

It's not a big deal in my opinion. They want to stay with more basic tackle for their entries, fine.

I don't understand how a lighted nock gives the hunter any unfair advantage over the compound bow itself, but it's not my book.

People who take questionable shots are not influenced either way by lighter nocks. They will take that marginal shot regardless of their setup because they want to kill something. It's purely ethics and they don't hold shot placement high on their ethics meter.

A lighted nock on their equipment is irrelevant, it's in their head and they appear to have gotten in yours as well.

Lighted nocks come into play once the string drops. I will continue to argue lighted nocks help tremendously in determining how quickly the shooter take up the blood trail.

Not every shot goes as planned, deer may jump the string, and knowing where that arrow entered is crucial in determining when to takes up the trail.

P&Y is getting more and more ridiculous in their edicts, to me it's just another example of the elitist mentality. Compound bow are major technical advantage, maybe P&Y should just be for recurves then.

You do realize your replying to a 2 plus year old thread.? and furthermore your info is just a little dated in regards to the pope and young club and its current rules. Are you a member? It doesn't sound that way considering you doe t seem to be up to speed on any changes the club may or may not have made.

Any way we can get a mod to change the title of this? I hate to think how many people just read the title or the first page and don't realize the information is inaccurate?

P&Y does allow the use of lit nocks, they have for over a year.

I could care less about making "The Book", however I would love to harvest a deer that qualifies for P&Y and I personally think that if you have to have your name in there your just bragging.

Please it's not on the same level of Facebook .....Get with the program. Social media is so much more classy, nostalgic, respectful and enduring.
