Had my days mixed up. Rifle season doesn't start until Monday so I will be bow clad tomorrow. With the rut in near full swing i picked up slime estris. Hopefully that will draw them in range for me.
Well I've spent 3 days in a row hunting my ground. the 3rd day was firearm. I couldn't get a deer to come by to save my life Wednesday or Thursay, but had plenty of them in Bow range on the opening day of shotgun. I thinking about hitting the woods again on Good Friday.
Couldn't take it anymore guys.. I haven't been seeing anything but dinks lately. I took a slick-head this morning. Thought it was a doe, but turned out to be a button buck. A slick 50 points though Gun week starts Monday, so I doubt I'll get a chance to buck hunt for the next week and half (not for any team points anyway). Good luck to everybody!
Well my shotgun season was terrible this past weekend only seen one spike. But tonight i drove by the property that i bow hunt had 10 deer 15yrds away from my treestand. I gave it a 3 week break to let it cool down and it seems liked it work. Cant wait to get out there again. Seen a good size buck earlier this year out there so will be hunting him.
I didn't make it out over the Holiday weekend. I had my truck packed and ready to go, but I was just wornout, and didn't feel 3 hours of sleep would do me any justice. I'm on call this week, but our 2nd shot gun season opens on Thursday. I'll only be able to really hunt on Sunday. I have take next Thursday and Friday off, but with my wife and mother in law heading to Chi Town for the long weekend, I'll be stuck with the little guy.
Sorry this took so long gents.. took way back on November 10th I think. Sorry no score yet.. but I'm typically slow with it anyways. He's a 6 year old.. Justin has trailcam pics of this buck dating back til 2008 as a 2 year old.. and I found his shed after the 2009 or 10 deer season (the cleft side). Like I said.. he won't score well.. but I was honored to have the opportunity at this old bruiser. Incidentally.. yes.. he's always had the "cleft" side.

Well the seasons about to close and I'm pretty much eating tag soup. Not sure if I'll get a chance to get back out. Not that it will matter anyways.
I am hoping to get out one more time hopefully sunday it is suppose to be cold. Got a couple of deer pics on the spypoint but they are all at night.
