I'm seriously considering hitting the woods on Friday as well. the temps are suppose to drop into the 30's and light rain. I'll more than likely have my 40 hours by Thrusday C.O.B So I will hopefully hit the woods around 1 or 2 for an evening hunt if that's the case.
Saw several deer over the weekend. Shot at one. 30yrds quartering away. Missed wide left. Like a game winning field goal, I choked. Anyway. Friday night is my chance to redeem myself! Good luck stay safe.
Got my first sit this morning ... 4 hours in the stand and nearly 80 frickin degrees! But I did see 3 does... nearly got drawn on the first one, but I also had 8 hens beneath me. Just too tough to seal the deal without getting busted. I'll be back at it tomorrow, or the next day... looking forward to the pending cold front!
Hog Dog! I'm off tomorrow and I'm not on call for once. What should I do???? Oh yeah duh! The only thing that will/could affect me going tomorrow is flooding. The creek bottoms aren't currently flooded but the creek is just shy of the crest point. all of the ditches along the bottoms road are full and there is a small creek/dip in the road to get to my property that has 2 1/2 feet of water in it as of last night per neighbor who checked for me. I have some other friends that live near by and they all seem to think that tonights T-storms will flood the bottoms completely. well I guess I'll see on my way down there. this would be my freaking luck. Another buddy that live near there reported seeing a large 10 pointer chasing three does across a field down there Tuesday evening at 6 PM just before dark. HEHEHEHEHEHEE. All I can say is wish me luck and pray that the rain doesn't ruin my chances at sitting tomorrow. I just discovered that good friend of mine's family own 40 acers up the creek from me it's all small trees surrounded by open fields. Probably not able to put up a stand, but I could possibly stalk something in it?? Good luck to everyone else.
Good luck! I haven't been out in weeks. Closed on my first house 2 weeks ago and have been painting and cleaning. Moving most our stuff tomorrow since were expecting rain Saturday and Sunday. If I'm lucky, I will be in the woods next weekend!
I hope you have better luck then I did. I did find an awesome spot to attempt to take one from the ground. I heard this buck all morning grunting and tearing up the place, but I could see him he was well over a 100 to 200 yards through the woods, but I got down and found where he's been hanging out. tracks and scapes all up and down the side of corn field. going to set up on the ground next to his scrape tomorrow. good luck guys!
Well boys my 7 year drought with a bow is finally over i got a button buck on the ground this morning. i will upload the pics as soon as i can. get some pts on the board.
. Pse Brute Lt 28 in draw. 70 lbs Trophy Hunter 400 arrows 100 gr Rage Tru Glo sight Apche Drop Away rest.
Post it on the score board. You need 2 pics with you, the deer and your bow to count. In addition you need to list the time and date of the kill. Oh yeah one more thing Congratz buddy. You deserved this one.
By the way I just shot my target earlier. Stupid corn is still up but I met a neighbor while leaving this moring and he said that the deer are running around like crazy in the pm, but FML I couldn't hunt an evening this weekend. And I didn't see ****. But I have an all day sit in my Black ops stand in 2 weeks. I was heading to it so that I could check my trail cam and I started running into rubs, so I back the out because my stand is right at the center of my bucks bedding area. I'm cool like that. Anyways I have a new shooter for next year that appeared over the week. He'll be a dandy next year. I post pics tomorrow night.
.Well i hope i did that right. Cant wait till next weekend gonna sit all day next one will hopefully be a bigger one
Congrats on both bucks! Points on the board baby! Sitting all day tomorrow, maybe the 11th time will be the charm...
