Spot Hogg Hogg-It 5 Pin with Dovetail...Switched from a single pin last season and have gotten use to it now, and had no issues at all. Like both very much though and for me it is preference with my set-up at the time.
Single set at 25 yards. I had a 5 pin apex but after about 5 minutes at the work bench I turned it into a 1 pin apex. works just fine.
I am currently shooting a 3 pin but I want to stretch my range out so I'm thinking of adding some pins.
i got a new 6 pin Apex nitrus. 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 85(maxed out), then a notch on the bottom at 110. I plan on making them 5 yard increments when season comes around
Spot Hog 7 pin Hunter, Versetile, has the most adjustment ability i have ever seen in a sight and its very solid once attached if i bump it i'm not worried about it being off. I have it set 20,25,30,35 I can set for 40 and up when or if i choose but for now 35 is far enough, Most setups i have 40 is to brushy and chancing a bad shot. I would rather pass and try again next year than guess at it.
I have used for years, a 5 pin Spot Hogg Hunter Hogg-it with 2 pins removed. So I'm a 3 pin guy, 20-30-40. However, this off-season, I am going to experiment with my current setup to see if I can remove another pin and still be covered out to my max range of 40. My whole goal is to simplify my aiming points for hunting. If I can get away with a single, non adjustable pin, I would. Someone commented about being 3 inches low and taking them out of the vitals. I'm not sure how that can hold true on whitetails. I view a whitetails vitals as about 12" high. Put that arrow anywhere in that vertical plane and you're getting lungs or heart or both. So for example, if you guess the deer at 20 and he's really at 30, and you have three inches of drop from 20 to 30, you're still in the lower half of the vitals.
