once season starts I try to stop using them unless necessary. it drove me crazy when I checked it only to find out I was in the wrong stand time after time. once I take inventory leading up to season I know there are bucks there then I just hunt. i'll put one out if I absolutely find sign I need to investigate.

I have 6. I only use mine over minerals to take inventory of what is there.
I feel like you can do more harm than good tromping through the woods to check cams.

My buddy and have about 45 regular cams and 10 cell cams. The regular cams are primarily used on saltlicks and field edges during the Summer. Then we switch to mainly relying on cell cams during season.

Running around in the woods checking cameras all the time (especially during season) is almost certainly a really bad idea. In the Summer each camera is checked no more often than once every 3 weeks.

Some 5+ yr old bucks dodge trail cameras like nobody's business.

This is my first year using cams and I have 3 set up.
I wish I had 30! Don't have the budget for that though!

I have two 20 acre tracts and one new 40 acre tract and have 12 cameras total. I have 4 on each of them currently

Had two, but being that I hunt on public land and one got stolen last year, I am down to one. I think that having multiple is definitely beneficial, even if they are located in a similar area but cover a different vantage point. Sometimes deer are just out of range of the sensor and having other cameras can allow you to see what is really coming into the area.

22 regular and 2 cell cams spread out over 22,000 acres of public land along with 1 on 10 acres of private, 1 on 27 acres of private and 2 on 53 acres of private.

I agree with Pat to a point. I don't think a guy could ever have too many if he has places for them... but I have got to a point personally that its becoming hard to have enough time to check them all bi-weekly. Especially the public land ones. Its minimum 80-100 miles round trip for me to check 10-12 of those 22 cams I have out on public.
