Makes sense. He quotes Carter; Olberman; Mathews; Obama; Biden; Frank; Schumer about 2% of the time.

I know it's offtopic, but I had to comment on the zebra mussels. A few years back they made their way into the lake my parent's cottage is on in Canada. What a mess! They're starting to thin out finally, but they certainly did damage.

As for the thread, in a word, no. Am I concerned about some of our energy related issues and lifestyle choices? Sure.

The zebra mussel was not introduced deliberately. It's a native of European freshwater and likely was introduced when ocean going ships dumped their ballast tanks in the Great Lakes. They are a nuisance because they form dense colonies and can clog the intakes of municipal water systems and cover other underwater structures. On the plus side, they are great fish food, but fish predation is not an adequate control. They do not increase pollution, but actually reduce it to the detriment of other species that feed on small organic particles.

There is evidence that the earth goes in cycles. The human factor I believe will cause a noticeable effect during these cycles, but are not the sole cause of cycles.
