Obviously this is a hot button topic these days. Are humans actually causing global warming? Do you believe in the greenhouse effect?
Whether or not humans are causing global warming is it something you are worried about?

My position has been and continues to be that the earth goes through regular cooling and warming periods without human influence. I think the chances that humans causing any so call warming is slim at best. Even if we are the implications will not be nearly as bad as the environmentalists say it will be.

To me, this is the same type of hoax that acid rain turned out to be.

    What???

The "experts" I'm hearing from on this site are only citing weather since 1879. What's this BS with a more broad historical weather perspective?

I think you took that article a little too far. All the article stated was since the National Climatic Data Center started keeping data in 1880 this is the hottest year on record. That is all. Take it for whatever you like. I forgot who I was dealing with here...you're the "expert" on all things.

Be aware that there is a big difference between weather and climate.

Hey, now.....don't give me too much credit. I'm merely taking the side that weather's been on Ma Nature's plate a LOT longer than 131yrs.. Trying to extrapolate weather "trends" (based on a mere "blink of the eye's" worth of data (in the history of the Earth) is like saying Ruben Tejada's the best hitter in MLB, 'cause he went 4-4 last night.

The day I give you TOO much credit is the day Tejada IS the best hitter in the majors.

I do not think humans are causing the global warming that is occuring. However, I believe we are negatively impacting mother earth by acting like slobs. It could be a win win situatioin for global warming activists and "non-believers" if we controlled pollutiion, fossil fuel emmisions, oil spills, etc. We would all win. The global warming activists would believe the earth to be cooling due to the reduction of harm that is being done to it, and in reality the earth would be better off health wise. So both sides would win.

The problem I see is destroying the economy on an assumption that carbon emissions are causing the earth to warm. While ignoring that this earth has been warming and cooling naturally. The proposed Cap and Trade is a great example. That would be devastating to our already weak economy. Are we really better off? I don't think so.

If your going to advocate to save the planet then do it with facts. Environmentalists are wonderful over reactors.

It has already been reported that the Gulf of Mexico is responding way better than expected in the recovery. Marshlands are already turning back green. Didn't the environmentalists tell us the Gulf was doomed?
