Welcome to IL poli... err judicial system. Had this been a case against a legal firearm owner for whatever reason, they would have sat in jail until their sentence was up then the appeal thrown out as moot simce they were no longer incarcerated. Talk show appearances will get him his restitution money for the CPD OT investigating his hoax and if appeal is successful he'll get his bail back as well. I'll trade his punk ass for a Madigan conviction though, but I'm a realist and know the only thing I'll get is another property tax hike.
sorry boys and girls, but unless you are convicted of a crime of violence, and you surrender your passport and have no history of absconding, a person SHOULD be released on appeal. No non-violent potentially innocent person, no matter how implausible their innocence, should be incarcerated while being adjudicated- even on appeal. His sentence was short enough that he would have burned his time while waiting for his new trial. He's a complete POS, I believe wholeheartedly he is guilty, but just is just. Even for Juicy.
Then you have January 6th trespassers just sitting in jail awaiting sentencing or trial. I have no problem with him being released pending appeal, but if denied he needs to serve his sentence in full and not pandered to because he's a fragile homosexual with isolation fears. Have a feeling this will ultimately end up with a Prickster pardon.
I picked up a roadkill buck this past fall. First time I have done it. It was a fresh kill, rigimortis had not set in and it was below freezing. Other than the back half being ruined by the impact, the meat was still good. Kept the neck, front legs, and backstraps. No signs of having the deer COVID despite it being the clear cause of death.
