While no nukes (yet), this article is concerning https://www.cbsnews.com/news/ukraine-russia-invasion-war-putin-nuclear-forces-high-alert Also, 2 radioactive incidents already within Ukraine. One a radioactive waste site struck by a missile... The other Chernobyl, where heavy equipment has stirred up contaminated soil in the exclusion zone. Monitors are out of commission at the waste site. Chernobyl levels are low (enough) to not be concerned.
Have to wonder how many Russian defectors there will be if Putin gets so irate he orders the leveling of some of these cities. Talks of possible chemical weapons being used in the future, would guess he could sneak those in without troops knowing, not really sure on that one though. Seems there is enough confusion and uncertainty amongst them that they very well could defect or just simply surrender to the Ukrainian military. Not everyone in Russia is as vile and effed in the head as Putin, especially with most of his infantry-men comprised of 19-22 year olds forced into his military.
there is a TON of pro-Ukrainian outright propaganda out there. ZeroHedge is flagging a lot of 'brave Ukrainian' pics that are several months or even years old. Doesn't mean I don't support them, doesn't mean they aren't kicking ass...but a ton of this is aimed at buying our sympathy and demanding we (the West) take immediate and increasing action.
Can't forget either, Zylenski is also a corrupt world leader being praised for his war time stance. He's a hero to his countrymen and most in the world, but he's still a thug in the real life world.
ZH has been around for well over a decade. They are a libertarian economic press outlet. I don't always agree with their direction, but I have yet to see them be factually incorrect.
