IL at it again. Changing the FOID Act to be even more nefarious. When applying for or renewing FOID must have 8 hours of approved firearm safety training. Local sherriff/PD has to issue you a permit, to which you must submit fingerprints, in order to purchase a firearm. You can be denied a permit for purchase for any reason that law enforcement agemcy deems a public safety concern. Yet, it is racist to ask legal United States residents to have a voter identification card. I guarantee more people are harmed by illegal voting than are by legal firearm owners/purchasers.
NC has had the sherif approval with fingerprints for years. Interestingly the state Sheriff's groups are now trying to overturn, as effectively the same NICs check is being done for the purchase permit and purchase of gun.
