remember Richard Jewel, the security guard who's life was ruined by the media and the FBI .. Richard Allensworth Jewell (born Richard White;[1] December 17, 1962 – August 29, 2007) was an American security guard and law enforcement officer who alerted police during the Centennial Olympic Park bombing at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia. He discovered a backpack containing three pipe bombs on the park grounds[1] and helped evacuate the area before the bomb exploded, saving many people from injury or death.[3] For months afterwards he was suspected of planting the bomb, leading to adverse publicity that "came to symbolize the excesses of law enforcement and the news media."[3] Initially hailed by the media as a hero, Jewell was soon considered a suspect by the FBI and local law enforcement based on psychological profiling. Though never charged, Jewell underwent a "trial by media", which took a toll on his personal and professional life. He was cleared as a suspect after 88 days of public scrutiny.[4] Eric Rudolph eventually confessed and pleaded guilty to that bombing and other attacks.[5][6] The media circus surrounding the investigation has been widely cited as an example of law enforcement and media excesses.[3]
yes you can, depending on the state, here in Indiana there dosnt have to be a reason ( there are only a few exceptions (Military duty/Reservist duty, jury duty, court summons) .. the company may have to pay unemployment afterwards (depends on situation), but we dont need a reason to crap can a turd .. Indiana is an “employment-at-will” state. This means that an employer may generally terminate an employee at any time and for any reason, unless a law or contract provides otherwise.
