I assume you mean Majority Leader (Senate President is always the VPOTUS.) But that is a very interesting idea... Manchin will be 75 when he runs next year but by all appearances is in decent health and shape. He could easily lose his seat to a Republican next year, especially if he caves on Hyde Amendment, or full on caves on gun rights (he is not exactly fully pro 2A but not a hard core banner, either.) The question is if McConnel would agree to that rather than pass on the possibility of being re-named Majority Leader if they are able to re-take the Senate in 2022. If your idea happens, don't be surprised if that witch Murkowski doesn't do the same and flip BACK to the Dems, tho. She's getting her asshanded to her in the polls in a primary and hasn't repented for voting to impeach The Donald. I wonder what would happen if she switched now before the primary...would there still be a primary or would it just go to the general? I am guessing there has to be a deadline for her to switch and avoid a primary, and we are almost down to a year out.
