2021, the year Memes divided a nation.... Have we seriously come to the point where memes have become news stories? Is that the level of education today's youth has been given? Seriously. I'd imagine anyone that can remember life pre internet and cell phones can understand that a picture with text superimposed to it is nothing more than a joke or talking point. If you see a meme and decide to change your vote or stop supporting someone/something based on it, your problem is not the party you support but being weak minded and uneducated. A meme is nothing more than a version of political cartoons that have been withing newspapers and magazines for decades. If memes influence you, you need to step away from elections and politics and rethink what drives you in life. Has the "Real News" outlets become that distrusting that Memes are the go to source?
I agree mostly. The only fake news memes that really bug me are ones that are misquoting someone. Right wing memes are especially guilty of it. I chose an old one for an example so nobody’s feathers should get ruffled. Diane Feinstein never said that. And I hate seeing memes like this pop up, left or right. We all hated it when the left put words into Trumps mouth, and in my opinion, spreading fake quotes isn’t any better. Other than that, yeah I’m not going to take any political message in a meme seriously, it’s a meme after all. Laugh and move on. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Hell, I'd be more concerned with "News" sites than a damn meme. CNN constantly looks like this, past few days it has been about how GOP is toxic and preventing Dems from passing their legislation and why the filibuster should be eliminated. Let's say they nuke the filibuster to force their agenda through, this year or next. I can guarantee come next year, should Republicans take back both chambers, you'll hear cries of how the filibuster needs reinstated to keep partisan policies from being passed or something similar. Democrats created the world we live in today and it all starts with Obama and his divisive rhetoric. It was his party that nuked the filibuster to pass an 8 hour old Affordable Care Act in the wee hours of night as the nation slept.
