Today Biden announced a push to make community college tuition free for the next two years. What an outstanding opportunity to pay more taxes for minimally educated people who will not take it seriously. In reality, probably just a talking point to try and boost his popularity. There are far too many community colleges in the country for the government to take them over and fund them. Debt, what debt?
99% of the problems with government in America would go away if the 16th amendment was repealed. Replace income taxes with a sales tax. Everyone spends money despite many not actually working for it. Also add amendments to the Constitution to eliminate deficit spending and term limits for congress. It could be done.
Very true. But eliminating the income tax and going to a sales tax would also simplify the tax code and make sure everyone benefiting from our society is helping to pay for it instead of placing the burden on the gainfully employed citizens. Probably need term limits in place before a major improvement to the tax system could be made.
