It is interesting what has happened to the metals recycling market since the election. China buys the scrap metal and copper from the US the price has gone up for some reason. It is actually a funny story, we sell pumps used in landfills to remove liquid off the liner. We get pumps in for repair at the factory. We can not dispose the failed motors, pumps, motor leads etc in a landfill because it is considered hazardous waste. However I can haul it to a facility and they will buy it for the scrap electric motors, copper from the motor leads and stainless steel from the pumps.

Sota, do you have any idea where that extracted liquid winds up? That's got to be nasty.

That's a damn shame, as are the other 4 deaths from yesterday, I hope there is video evidence so that whoever it was can be charged and convicted.

Sadly, as I told @Okiebob yesterday, I think these types of events are going to become the norm in the coming years. over the past 4 years new tactics have been implemented with fireworks and now pipe bombs.

Don't know what the answer is or how to stop it from occurring. For every protest there will be a counter protest and that is where it is going to start getting uglier and uglier.

I'm not for stripping people of their rights, but if they can get away with licenses and permits for exercising your 2nd amendment right, maybe it's time to start having these big rallies and protests require permits and capacity limits as well as being location specific unless it is a march. Then it would require specific routes be adhered to.

One way in, one way out and screening before entering.

The link says he died, but the story says he is on life support, which is it?

Either way, it is incredibly shameful. I hope he recovers quickly if the latter is true.

We were planning to shut down the Capitol Building but the authorities were so scared of this #WomensWave that they shut it down for us.

1000+ women, survivors, and allies have gathered in the Hart Senate Building.

Lefty Journo Michael Tracy Calls Out Big-Tech For Censoring Trump “Democrats Used To Oppose Censorship”

Anyone who celebrates the "de-platforming" of the sitting President from social media -- likely the most extreme thing which has happened over the past day -- is a naked authoritarian who craves the punitive authority of tech companies to carrying out their political bidding

YouTube: Any Channels Claiming The U.S. Election Was Stolen Or Fraudulent Will Have Their Video Immediately Deleted…

You know, my family came over here from Europe during the last Great War. In Europe, companies had to be FORCED to censor news and information by the governments.

In America, tech companies are literally falling over themselves to do it voluntarily. This is a terrible sign of things to come. What will happen once Big Tech’s desire to curtail information is married with politicians who have the desire to make them go further?

    Via Neowin:

Google has announced that YouTube channels that post videos containing false claims about the results of the United States presidential election, which made Joe Biden President-elect, will now be met with a strike. Back in December, the online video platform had announced that it would start removing these videos with false claims, but the channels posting them would not see any punishment as a result.

Initially, this grace period was set to last until Inauguration Day, on January 20. However, following the violent events at the Capitol building in Washington D.C. yesterday, and with Joe Biden being confirmed as the next U.S. President by the Electoral College, the company has decided to enforce the new rules immediately.

Twitter Restricts President Trump’s Call for ‘Peace’…

    Via Newsbusters:

President Donald Trump’s call for order was restricted by Twitter, as chaos erupted in the nation’s capital.

Rioters stormed the capital on January 6 and Trump responded with a short video posted to Twitter that called for peace and an end to the protest. He assured his supporters, “I know your pain. I know your hurt,” but told them “you have to go home now. We have to have peace.” President Trump also assured his supporters that he agrees the election was “fraudulent,” but warned “we can’t play into the hands of these people.” The tweet was promptly labeled with a warning: “This claim of election fraud is disputed, and this Tweet can’t be replied to, Retweeted, or liked due to a risk of violence.”

The “risk of violence” claim was especially bizarre since Trump made it clear he was calling for “peace” and urging the protesters go home. Trump’s post on Facebook was similarly labeled: “The US has laws, procedures, and established institutions to ensure the integrity of our elections.” At least Facebook didn’t treat a call for peace as a “risk of violence.”

*** the attacks from the left will become stronger as they attack the 1st Amendment and the 2A and as they continue to denigrate Trump supporters and conservatives .... the dupes of the left are emboldened .... what happened yesterday is minor for what is to come ... WE the PEOPLE will not tolerate attacks on the Constitution and our rights ....

For those who think the dems are not serious about gun control. (I looked each of these up to make sure they were not fake news)

There are already six new bills proposed by lawmakers.

Although it isn’t funny, I do find the one ironic that proposes a 7 day wait period for semi auto rifles, magazines, and more importantly suppressors.

Like dude! I had to wait 7 months for the stupid can. Don’t talk to me about a 7 day wait period!

Its baffling that anyone can try to equate kids protesting in the halls to these malcontents storming the Capitol and offices of the people's legislature with the intention of preventing the certification of our election

I seen earlier they said that he had died, then later recanted and said he was still alive but in grave condition. I looked at the time stamp of the article and figured he had since passed.

Doesn't look good either way, but a fighting chance is still better than the alternative.

I dont think so. I keep seeing supporters of this insurrection attempting justify it by pointing to two times in recent history that there was demonstrations in the capital, one time was a children's group and the other time was womens march.
Both bingne, and quite frankly a person would really to be unhinged to try to draw equivalency to it.

This is one issue I do have faith in our current SCOTUS makeup.

Thomas has been bitching for years that they need to address gun rights issues but they continually refused to do so on most of the big cases.

I wish I knew for certain they would at least accept them, then I would almost hope for them to pass and Biden sign, alas I cannot because I do not have that assurance.

No Trial, the unhinged is you lefties, those like you that despise people who stand up for our Constitution and free speech as I do and others here do and as the peaceful marchers did yesterday... it is to bad that ANTIFA and a small number of zealots ruined the show of support for Trump and freedom .....you try to blend in, but yet you take jabs at Trump supporters and constitutionalists and freedom lovers ... you may fool some here, you will never fool me ... ..

I'm not real knowledgeable up and don't follow politics but know enough to see the Democrat party as an enemy.

I hate to exclude family/friends because of it but I'm to the point I just may?
I vote R but really dont consider myself an R.
I live my life quietly. I try to just be a good person.
I like guns. Any of them.
Now, for sure the Republican party is almost as much a P.O.S as the Democrat party.
Instead of Democrat/ vs/Republicans, I'd like to see it switch too Liberals /VS conservatives.
Split the USA in half. Totally the same. Apples to apples.
Which half would prosper n which would self destruct.?
I think the answer is a no brainer?

After looking at your image of the proposals, those are House Resolutions which are not bills that become law, only feel good measures. They likely passed and did nothing already.

Now, they could very likely become HB's in the new administration and gain traction now that both Chambers are Democrat controlled, or they could become Senate Bills as they have the slimmest margin and if can pass there the House would likely pass them. Firearm issues are going to be tough in the Senate, you have some red state Dems who toe the line to keep their position and with a VP deciding vote, they won't have that luxury of voting Nay when it has already got the votes. That is one thing this Senate makeup has going for it. House lost a dozen seats as well, have to see how things play out there.

I think gun issues will be their biggest challenge for the next 2 years in all honesty, they would have to pass them early and hope for bigger issues to arise for the voter to forget come midterms.

    We'll see

I really feel bad for cultists followers that Trump duped. His speech today proved what scum bag chicken **** he is.
He fired them up, they do his bidding but don't deliver what he wanted as a result. The **** hits the fan and he realize you're about to get impeached or maybe removed and won't be able to continue to fleece people as a candidate for office. So you throw them under the bus and say your minions need to be "prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law".
Right. But the good news is ...i think and it just may be just me, but I am pretty sure most functioning adults are on to him by now.

I have to agree. I think they will know that gun control will be a loser for them, first politically and secondly in the SCOTUS
