We need 90% of the Congressamen/ Congressawomen out. That should be our goal for the next 6 years. 90% out. Put it on signs. Put it on bumper stickers. Vote them out .

Unfortunately that should have happened many years ago. Today only spot lights " beware of what you wish for" or careful what you wish for . Take your pick.

Term Limits would do that. 4, 2 year terms.

    State and federal levels.

That is the kind of legislation that just about everybody in the country would support. One of the few things that republicans, democrats, liberals, progressives, the alt-right, libratarians, and even those crazy folks in the Green Party can agree on is that pretty much every politician in DC is a crooked piece of ****. In fact, I am pretty confident that there are literally only 535 people in the whole country who would oppose congressional term limits... Unfortunately for us, that would take an act of congress and it just so happens that every single one of the 535 people who oppose term limits is either a senator or a member of the House of Representatives.

While we're revisiting the rules... I'd propose campaign funding changes too... No funding except from US citizens, natural persons donations only (I.e. No corporations, special interests, no paacs, etc)...

They can and do act as lobbiests... I'll allow for now...

Anyone figure out how NPR was able to release a detailed news story at 9:33 am yesterday morning about the attack on the Capitol that happened after noon? I saw it with my own two eyes. In fact, it was up on their site into part of today. Maybe they should have warned the Capitol police at that time so they could have actually done something about all the "Trumpers" gaining access to the building. The video I watched was a guard that basically led them right through all the twists and turns and stairwells to the chambers. Lots of questions...... I have never been to the Capitol. One of my agents has been there several times and said there is absolutely no way that an unarmed crowd would get that far unless it was allowed.

Fletch I actually said this to someone today. Have you noticed how fast articles are written? And after reading them its like they were created days in advance, just waiting to be thrown out to incite chaos. I've seen it so many times recently. People wanting someone to happen and slanting and generalizing an article so bad on an event so rare that the article itself is laughable. Yet people go haywire on the story and by the time we know it the story is true in the idiots minds. Carrot leading the horse.

It doesn't matter if you were a "Trumper" or not, going into that Capitol building yesterday. The bottom line is, whoever the guilty parties were, they were instigated/directed by Trump and Giuliani, who was quoted as saying, "trial by combat". A realistic, honest mind, wouldn't see it any other way.
It's now pretty much to the point where all Trump has left is his brainwashed base, which will dissipate with time. Kind of like how House MINORITY Leader McConnell will slide off into the sunset. Trump is no longer relevant.

Yeah now we get these douchebags in Congress who want to take away our 2nd Ammendment rights. Georgia, a deep south state siding with gun removing politicians. Never thought I'd see the day. Absolute weakness of mind to think that is right. And unconstitutional.

And the AOC types who'd like to tax the crap out of hard working Americans bc the system is "unfair". This version of the Dem party is the worst in modern political history. I cannot believe moderate Dems would want these increasing far leftists creeps gaining power within their party. Virtue signaling politicians who live and die on social media. What a friggin world. What a hole we have dug ourselves with increasing federal bureaucracy and an overreaching federal hand into our lives. Dems just want to play puppet master and the masses gladly pull down their pants and take it in the rear.

Make it 100%, plus term limits moving forward. They are ALL complicit.

I think there should be campaign fund caps as well. That would keep it a more even playing field.

    From Tucker, good read:

As long as people sincerely believe they can change things by voting, they stay calm. They don’t storm the bastille. They don’t burst into the House chamber. They talk and they organize and they vote. But the opposite is also true. If people begin to believe that their democracy is fraudulent, if they conclude that voting is a charade, that the system is rigged and it’s run in secret by a small group of powerful dishonest people who are acting in their own interests, then God knows what could happen. Actually, we do know what could happen. It’s happening right now. It’s happened in countless other countries over countless centuries, and the cycle is always the same because human nature never changes.

“Listen to us!” screams the population. “Shut up and do what you’re told,” reply their leaders. In the face of dissent, the first instinct of illegitimate leadership is to crack down on the population. But crackdowns never make it better. Instead, they always make the country more volatile and more dangerous. The people in charge rarely understand that. They don’t care to learn or listen because all of this conversation is a referendum on them and their leadership, so they clamp down harder. “Obey, I tell you. Obey!” This is the Romanov program. It ends badly every single time. But that doesn’t mean they won’t try it again. Of course, they will because it’s their nature. It’s how we got here in the first place.

Millions of Americans sincerely believe the last election was fake. You can dismiss them as crazy, you can call them conspiracy theorists, you can kick them off Twitter, but that won’t change their minds. Rather than trying to change their minds to convince them and reassure them the system is real, that the democracy works as you would do if you cared about the country or the people who live here, our new leaders will try to silence them.

What happened today will be used by the people taking power to justify stripping you of the rights were born with as an American. Your right to speak without being censored, your right to assemble, to not be spied upon, to make a living, to defend your family, most critically. These are the most basic and ancient freedoms that we have. They are why we live here in the first place. They’re why we are proud to be Americans. They are what make us different, and they are all now in peril. When thousands of your countrymen storm the Capitol building, you don’t have to like it. We don’t.

You can be horrified by the violence, and as we said and we will say it again, we are horrified. It’s wrong. But if you don’t bother to pause and learn a single thing from it, from your citizens storming your Capitol building, then you’re a fool. You lack wisdom and you lack self-awareness. You have no place running a country. We got to this sad, chaotic day for a reason. It is not your fault. It is their fault.

Tucker Carlson. One of the only remaining decent, fair mainstream media folks. Works for Fox.

More than ever it's important to teach our children the power of knowledge. How to gain it and wield it as a weapon against those who would wish to push them around. Know your rights. Stand up for your beliefs. Congratulate young kids who are intellectuals and free thinkers, even when they are outnumbered 100 to 1. That is toughness.

I agree. I think most importantly they need to gain their knowledge from accurate sources. Then, they're best equipped to use it going forward.
