From of organizer of the event, a 4 year vet of the paratroopers and one pissed off football mom. The event board worked hard not to make this political. We all agreed to make it about these kids. It why I went and stood with them, you get 1 sr year and the data does not support the actions. Below is her statement, she’s the leader of the board for the #letthemay movement. My statement for those saying “saw a lot of people not wearing masks!” These kids and coaches wore masks...ALL SUMMER LONG...every practice, every day...because they were told that if they did, they would play football. WELL THEY WERE LIED TO. The masks they wore meant nothing. Some people at the rally had masks on. Some did not. Most of the athletes had masks on in the crowd but chose to take it off when they went on stage because they wanted their faces SEEN. These kids are with one another more than they are with their own family members. They hang together, ride in cars together, sleep in the same rooms together, and now play on other sports teams together...so standing in a crowd next to one another, outside, breathing lots of wonderful oxygen...isn’t unsafe. And for those who said “these people said they could play safely but can’t even put on a dang mask”...we did play safely...all summer long...with no reward. It was time to show our face. So “put the masks on and you can play football” was a lie. Moving forward, if they are told to “put the mask on and LETS PLAY BALL...then I promise you...the masks will go on. And for the big group picture at the end...you better believe most took their masks off, because they were there fighting for what they believe in and were allowed to make the choice to have their faces seen for the 30 seconds it took to take that picture. How strange would it be to have this amazing moment and not know a single person who was there because every face was covered? We weren’t there to be a faceless crowd. We were they to show our faces and have our voices heard. So if the only thing some of you negative people can say about this amazing rally with 600 people there standing up for their rights is “didn’t see many masks”...then YOU’RE the problem. I was brought to tears when I looked out into that crowd and saw the FACES of our future. These kids have 17,000 people in this group who have their back and couldn’t be MORE PROUD of their fight and grit. STAND TALL GUYS! We are SO proud to be fighting this fight with you. No masks no distancing nice work makes what they did all summer pointless. Yeah life sucks. Bright side they are not headed to join the military to storm the beaches of Normandy.
See what they did there? We were the problem when they were bitching about us not wearing masks or social distancing, and now when they don't do it we are still the problem for calling them out.

I'm not sure about that...... most (smart) people that CC don't talk about it. They don't want to bring attention to themselves. If they want attention then they might as well open carry. I've had my permit for over 5 years and never tell or show anyone what I'm carrying. As for the topic being hot and heated...... again, I don't think so. I think CC permit requests are going to be at an all time high because of the police being defunded and crippled by their mayor's. It is plain to see that peoples safety in now in their own hands. Even people who were previously against guns are now buying them at an accelerated rate. It will become like car insurance. If you don't have it you must be crazy.
