Germ, I have to ask. Are you a democrat? Moderate Rep? Independent? Libertarian? I know that people always say never ask, but I don't have that limiter on my brain. I just want to know what point of view you come from in these discussions. I mean no disrespect at all. Don't answer if you don't want to. I just like to know where it is people are coming from. I respect other peoples opinions and beliefs even they don't align with mine. I will listen to what they have to say and may even agree sometimes. I am a level headed civics teacher. Thanks

Missed that part, was at the store for first half. There are times though when it is obvious he either misses the intent of the question or completely acts like he knows what is being asked about, when he clearly doesn't, that he would just suck it up and ask about it or say, I will look into that and get back with you. He too often is afraid to admit when he isn't knowledgeable about something. Truth be told, while I have heard of them I have never followed or read up on them and their claims.

And I'm wondering whether I should switch my 401k to non stocks amd let it sit in relative safety until well after the election. If Dems win and Biden gets in the market will be back to 18-19k quickly. Just how low to let it get before switching back, not sure if there is a waiting restriction on switching back or not.
Still adding landfill cells, although municipalities in some areas have delayed orders. Still pumping condensate out of landfill gas fields, still using solar powered matchstick flares for odor control and gas migration issues. I answered others first, yours is more complex. Yes, we should be in a recession at present, but the question is really are we going to stay in a recession or not in the 3q? As Sota pointed out, the market is at record highs. But why? 3T of debt + the fed providing a **** ton of backing and Fed balance sheet gymnastics (props to the Fed governors)... But what the heck does that mean? Anybody? Anybody? Its 'Voodoo economics' (quote from Ferris Bueller) Because simply it's unsustainable and artificial stimulus. Look at a couple summary points of the cares act: *Layoffs - some businesses that took $ couldn't layoff til Oct 1 (hey that's Q4) *Repos - no repos for late/non payments *Loan/Debit forebearance/workout deals - you want relief your bank /lender will hook you up and defer payments for 3 months (interest keeps accruing). My airline friends have been given notice and warned 20-50% will be laid off, depending on airline, unless there is more relief. One airline I know of is losing (only) 30m/day now (down from 100m). Travel is 25% of pre-Vid #s. Repos are a 90day process (another quarter), once started. Municipities are jockeying to try to head this wave off - crime, vandism, commercial RE collapse which kills tax Rev... Yada yada Loans/debt are in the ****ter. Finally we are also at the end of the 7 year economic cycle (2021 really)... So yeah, IMHO, the shot has yet to hit the fan.
Some companies: Fang, network, media, some retail. Others aren't: Heavy manufacturing, equipment, some materials, airlines, travel, yes, thus the socialistic appeal, but I disagree (my opinion and glad to be wrong here) on suburbs. Joe Middle-class, who has a job, is bunkered down... But borrowing out his ass. The money is buying rural properties to get the hell out of cities... Modern 'color agnostic' flight. We will see... And we will see... But secretly it doesn't matter who wins, based on the economic cycle, either way they will be despised.
I'm still waiting for the trickle down effects of the ongoing situation at my work. I really fear should Biden win, it could actually sink us. We do machining for Caterpillar, Komatsu and Hitachi big electric mining trucks, refurb shafts for windmills, a few nuclear sub parts, have other contracts with oil rigs and a couple aerospace. I'm talking parts that weigh 7,000 - 18,0000 pounds. Regualtion easement has helped us, but going back to Obama style regulations would probably sink us. We still haven't recovered from Obama term recession.

I'm actually surprised don't see more of this from various minority groups, or whatever pc term they call themselves. Since 2016 and definitely within last year if individuals aren't falling in line and expressing disgust for the POTUS they're shunned and ridiculed by whatever group they belong. Obviously there's not huge rallies and protest but if you look in the right places there's alot that are walking away from the liberal side of things. It's pretty funny really, never seen a group thats supposedly all about equality and inclusion cannibalize themselves so often. I don't take one side or the other, it's not affecting me in the least either way. Just saying that those claiming Trump is anti LGBTQ are as wrong as the next group claiming he is a racist.
