Higher numbers in this article https://www.wsj.com/articles/mental-illness-and-mass-murder-11564955203 "Multiple studies done between 2000 and 2015 suggest that about a third of mass killers have an untreated severe mental illness." This atop any already diagnosed or under treatment. "In 2018 the Federal Bureau of Investigation released a report titled “A Study of the Pre-Attack Behavior of Active Shooters in the United States Between 2008 and 2013.” It reported that 40% of the shooters had received a psychiatric diagnosis, and 70% had “mental health stressors” or “mental health concerning behaviors” before the attack."
Let's take into account this task forces is only about two months old, I found it interesting is all.
He does actually have some really good guest and interviews. I haven't watched or listened to them all but seems no matter who the guest is he let's them answer the questions and just listens. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
I would agree if altered a little bit. "I have accepted who we are becoming" While mass shootings are not exactly new, the frequency with which they are occurring is increasing. The AR-15 and SKS are not fresh on the scene they have been around for years. The only difference between the 2 guns below is one has scary attachments on it. Otherwise they are identical in function and caliber, yet only one is targeted for banning. So using the spreadsheet I posted the only thing the graphic above didn't have so I divided it in half. Pre 2000 and post 2000. 30 mass shootings from 1982 -1999, average age being 36 84 mass shootings 2000 to present average age being 33 So the key thing to me in that scenario is what changed from 1999-2000? Only major factor I can think of was the Columbine shooting in April 1999. Until Sandy Hook, that was the most tragic school shooting. Was all the media coverage on it enough to embolden those who feel unaccepted and alone or bullied to act out? Who knows, but I think with mass shootings Columbine was the tipping point going by numbers of mass shootings alone. Edit forgot the images as I strayed off
If one looks at comparisons between all the countries, the US isn't even the worst. http://worldpopulationreview.com/countries/mass-shootings-by-country/ Also, while it's a relatively long read, there are some interesting points in this Pew Research article from 2017: https://www.pewsocialtrends.org/2017/06/22/americas-complex-relationship-with-guns/
So FOX News has an article on the debate of mass shootings/mental illness that also sites the study Germ mentioned. They only did cases from 2000-2013 so that could be the discrepency in mental illness numbers amongst mass shootings. Guessing it was the study that Obama ordered in 2013 not a current one. I believe Obama also had them redefine mass shooting to include 3 victims or more rather than 4. https://www.foxnews.com/health/mental-illness-mass-shootings "An FBI study of 63 active-shooter incidents from 2000 to 2013 could only verify that 25 percent of the active shooters were known to have been diagnosed with a mental illness of any kind and surmised that “formally diagnosed mental illness is not a very specific predictor of violence of any type, let alone targeted violence.”
What has change is the rhetoric has gotten far far more hostile and the left has gotten far more extremist in nature.
https://www.usatoday.com/story/news...ll-apparent-suicide-media-reports/1975052001/ Please God don't let "Them" get away with another one even if death was too good for this POS
“Suicide” hahahahahahahaha The highest profile person In a global Sex trafficking scandal that has names including presidents, celebrities, princes etc. “HUNG HIMSELF” While on suicide watch, even tho he had no belts, shoelaces, sheets & paper clothes w 2 guards on 24 hr surveillance within feet of him. Start the Countdown until the prison guard responsible for watching him tragically dies in a random house fire or car crash. Upcoming media spins..... -Trump did it -Russia did it -camera footage is not available due to a malfunction - they took him off suicide watch just days after trying to kill himself cause they felt he was cured - all of the above Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Always nice when the actions of a fraction of a percentage dictates the permissions and rights of 300+ million, constitution be damned. Bernie was amazingly calm for a deranged socialist POS. We do have a mental health problem in this nation and I think Rogan had a good point with the RX drugs as well as the number of guns already out there.
