You see these WNBA players calling an owner all kinds of terrible things? Censoring her free speech because she says she doesn't like the idea of BLM being put on WNBA jerseys because BLM is a political organization. Clearly identified her thoughts yet was called a racist because she doesn't blindly support BLM. Cancel culture.
Well good for her! So don't tow the line and your racist? They'll love this. I am a admitted racist. I am racist against blatant racists deflecting by calling others racists. I hope they got enough racism out of that statement to make their day.
You all want another reason not to kneel for BLM?..well here you go. https://www.citizensjournal.us/a-co...rity-handling-black-lives-matter-fundraising/
I met him in 2015, my company invited him to speak. He's a super nice guy, but I am going to agree with Dnoodles on this one. Talking about task and actually doing them are two different items. One does not have to agree with our President, but when he picks a path or action he sticks with it, no matter the cost.
Soooo Scotus just ruled half of Oklahoma is under Native American, Moscogee, jurisdiction instead of the state of Oklahoma. And federal jurisdiction of course. W.T.F.? Gonna be wild seeing how this shakes out. Sent from my SM-G960U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I was kind of wondering the same thing earlier today. While I know a little about a lot of things; and like to think I know a lot about a few things; the legal relationships between the United States and Tribal Governments are not any of those things. I imagine that will mean that the Tribal Lands will get some sort of percentage of all taxes earned there? But every Indian reservation I have ever been on has had no sales tax. So, what; the people who have been living in those areas for years have to leave? But get to sue the state for their sales taxes paid over the years? Craziness. I love how the Court makes a ruling that blows up the system with no guidance on how to pick up the pieces.
Really has more to do with jurisdiction and Native sovereignty. Basically the local Barney Phife cant go hassling natives any longer bc he doesnt have the jurisdictional authority. That would be left up to tribal and Federal level agencies. Just one more thing our lazy lawmakers didnt do when they where out whoring for lobbyists dollars. Which in this case would be reneging on another treaty. They had the balls to do it to the tribes of the western half of Oklahoma but not the eastern half. Plus our halfwit sub prime banned from doing business in multiple states mortgage lender governor decided that he was going to singlehandly renegotiate the tribal compacts regarding the casino licensing and not only pissed off the natives but made a damn fool of himself while doing it. Anyway, from what I understand this will have no effect on land ownership or taxes. Nothing more than agency jurisdiction.
I assumed the real felt impact will come from the law suits to follow using this as precedent. All the stuff i saw and read was basically "who knows". Sent from my SM-G960U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
OK- so does that mean local municipalities no longer have to fund local law enforcement? And those local law enforcement are now "disbanded"? I am not being belligerent; I seriously want to know.
You sure are.. I think it means local, county and state law enforcement agencies have no jurisdiction to prosecute native Americans for crimes that happened on tribal land. And now all of eastern Oklahoma is tribal land. For all other non native Americans it is business as usual. How again is this disbanding LE? Gotta love that Gorsuch. He simply followed the letter of the law regarding the treaties and didnt necessarily side with the tribes.
