What kills me is tbe news is STILL referring to it as a noose! Just that it was there since last week.
I learned about it yesterday when I was trying to figure out whether FS1 would replay the race since I could not record it. Didn't comment on it as the way things are right now, you'd be a racist either way. I found it "convenient" and having followed NASCAR for 25 plus years kind of offensive they brought this out so publicly without any type of internal investigation. I found it convenient as they had just announced their ban on the confederate flag on any of their properties. I found it insulting/offensive as they were basically accusing one of the team members of NASCAR's 40 teams or a track official of being a racist without proving a thing. Family and fans were/are prohibited from the track due to Covid-19. Bubba Wallace has been a mainstay in NASCAR for years, never an incident reported anything close to discrimination or any other matter that I have heard of. He's a genuinely likeable personality and good for the sport. He stood up for Kyle Larson after his virtual racing "N" word put him out of the "real world" series, stating he deserves another chance. I don't know who found it, reported it, cut it down etc. I just found it an odd thing and completely out of place for the sport I have followed for so long. Not sure if Bubba actually seen it or if it was cut down and destroyed and told to him so he believed it as such. Sad situation regardless
OK, so yeah, just seen Tucker segment on it. If Wallace seen the rope before it was cut down then yeah, he played it out in a bad way and I've lost a lot of respect for him as I am sure a lot of other fans have as well. If you don't believe him "it wouldn't surprise me as the simple minded..."
Admittedly I did not read up on it or follow along. Missed the first 1/3 of the race as I was at work so didn't see much mention of it until post race when he went to the fence and greeted BLM attendees. I watch just about all the races, but no longer follow it like I did up until Earnhardt's death in 2001. NASCAR died for me as well that day. Hearing his comments on the MSNBC or CNN interview, I think he will be losing a lot of sales and possibly fans as he accused NASCAR fans of being simple minded clueless basically. This whole country right now is screwed up over a Minneapolis officer(or lack of one) with what I think was a personal vendetta against Floyd and probably wanted to assert himself as the dominate male over a coworker tiff. The rest of the country is on trial, not the individual who set this all off.
Greeted BLM attendees? BLM infiltration of all structures. Next will be helicopter drops of propaganda posters.
There was limited amount of fans allowed to attend. Prevuous race they were military members and family as Miami owned the track and set it up that way. Wallace had a BLM paint scheme on his car for that race. This one was at Talladega and I believe 5,000 fans were there. I missed the first third if the race where they likely would have talked about it at the beginning of the race. Not sure if they were invited guests by Wallace or just happen chance. Could have been they paid for the sponsorship rope lasr week and this was a part of their deal since last weeks race was set by Miami and this one NASCAR set the guidlines for fans. Sadly as much as I have been looking forward to sports restarting, I am slowly dreading it as it was set to be my escape from politics. I say keep America open and shut off all access to media for the next 6 months.

It's boring af to begin with. The only excitement is a crash, which says a lot. I love auto racing, so I watch Formula One, Offroad Rally racing and occasionally the GT series.
Honest question for folks that are undoubtedly more tuned in than I am. Regarding the mail in ballot stuff that's been popular of late, we've had mail-in ballots for a while now in a handful of states as well as absentee and military. Hell our own President uses a mail-in ballot! Why are we all the sudden concerned about the authenticity of these? Does it have to do with the volume?
I'll be honest- I am so busy that it would be possible for me to mail in a ballot, receive a 2nd one 2-3 weeks later, and think to myself- "dang, didn't I already vote? Or did I meant to vote and forgot? Was I drunk that day? Ah, well F it, I better vote before my wife throws this one away in a cleaning spree." Then end up voting twice. Which is admittedly low by Cook County standards, but still.
