They aren't making their real $ from their salaries. Interesting though they set the rules and laws for just about all industries and commerce, yet exempt themselves from SEC rules like insider trading...major conflict of interest!
Sadly, four years isn't enough. It'd have to be many years, and quite possibly a couple of generations. Overall, it's a great idea and well intended start. But, things such as this take a very long time. Far more than four years.
To a great degree, this is akin to what I like about Habitat for Humanity...its more of a hand up, than a hand out. Owners must provide sweat equity on their or others homes (learning pragmatic, useful and potentially marketable skills), demonstrate need but also attend financial training classes (e.g. Learn to budget, pay bills, credit concepts)...
Out of curiosity, does anyone know the percentage of "successes" when it comes to this? Meaning, home is well maintained and not run down. Nor is it foreclosed on, etc. due to poor life choices
Yes but I'm talking about VS running for president.. Rebuilding parts of our nation and bridging the divide will take a lifetime.
We picked up one of our best employees from a Habitat For Humanity project. We roofed the mothers house when he was 17, he was more into that project than anyone. He graduated high school a year later, applied with us and we hired him as a warehouse man. He then worked in production and now sales. He is killing it this year and is on track to buying his first house. Habitat For Humanity does way more than just provide housing and the proof just turned in seven roofing contracts this week.
It's pretty high. Here's one article. https://www.athenshabitat.com/homeowner-statistics-2016/ Habitat also self funds and will buy back the home, from the homeowner if they want to sell.
The people being helped must put some skin in the game as well or it won't work. Nothing is free. Many years ago I saw government refurbished houses in northern Wisconsin that had their aluminum siding and torn out and sold. I was told it was sold for drugs and alcohol. People must work some for which they receive or the plan will not work.
Sharecropping is indeed “reparations”. It was a form of pay benefits. That work could have gone to other people but instead was given to ex slaves. Not arguing with you, but the cost back then was extreme !!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm not going to wade into the Reparations 'Bermuda triangle', but for extra credit, you may want to read up on the history of Liberia...
Cnn....loves to try and destroy "old white guys" legacies. They love it. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Related. CNN was on the TV in the hotel breakfast area... I've not watched it in some time, but not even a smidge of unbiased reporting in the few minutes.
Come up bear hunting with me in MN. I'll take you for a tour on a few Indian rez' s. If that don't change your mind on your thinking...
