If Business A, B and H all provide the same service, and they are all directed to temporarily close because of a public aemergency. Furthermore they all given funds to help with associated hardships. However business H takes those funds and but remains open and profits unduly, like it has happened here, yes business H is profiteering. A and B are respecting the public good and serving their communities and neighbors while H is profiteering.

I can't believe you tried to explain that. 1. Go back and see the time line involved 2. Applied for assistance weeks prior did not receive anything until ****e hit the fan. 3. You did not originally compare her with business "A&B" you tried to compare her to ESSENTIAL workers. People basically forced to go to work. Risking their families, neighors, and every other ESSENTIAL workers health they come in contact with. Just like when all of us get groceries , gas, some of you booze, Walmart, Sams, BJ's, Cosco's, Loews ect., ect, ect. 4. Again look up the definition of profiteering. Problem is there are a whole lot of 'Essential' businesses open and a whole lot of people working that received checks in their accounts. Businesses that were deemed essential not by health officials, not by government officials. Prime example, school construction workers were deemed essential workers by, school supervisors. Because the Governor thought that was a good buck to pass.
New first for me on BH.com I never had to ignore anyone before. However in this case its warranted. When someone consistantly creates strawmen because they wont or cant read what was written and then they continously argue the same fallacy its a pointless endeavor. Honest answer. I that isnt my take at all. Speaking for myself its a two part answer in regards to this conversation.. First I can totally understand anyones frustration being out of work and the hardships thats come with that. By all means i want eveyone back to work and back their normal lives as qucikly as is safely possible for them and the communities they live in. The second part. Much of this conversation has been centered around the women in TX that was a first arrested and then released for reopening her hair salon against the city/state directive. She also applied for and received federal funding the the PPP. Aside from the obvious profitteering and disregard she showes her commuinty, and the misuse of our federal funds. She has also in some circles been held up as hero. The hero status seems pretty misguided in mind considering her actions..there are lots of people that acted and still acting selflessly in the situation, too many to name and this women isnt one of them.
Again applied weeks before ever recieving any funds. Again she was not in business for weeks. Maybe you do not understand the term " time line" Germ She was in business days ,wait,wait before the government opening things up. Not a blk. Market deal, not unfairly profiteering. Civil disobedience to protect her workers from doing unsafe practices . Actually protecting the public. I find it insulting that you assume members do not know how to read or keep up with the news. Perhaps your calling should be in net work news editing. She was Closed March 24th she reopened on April 24 when no funds had come her way at that point. She tore up a cease and desist order on ,I think,April 25 or 26th. Received a court date that yes she did remain open until then . By your own post she never received any money until 2 DAYS before her court date which was less than 10 days before the State reopening. Do Not ,me being kind here, fudge the facts and state incorrect things to bolster a failing position

Now here's something funny. I'm watching a video from NYC of ice cream trucks driving through the city serving ice cream cones to people on the street because they were deemed essential. You can see this on you tube. Now the guy featured was gloved but handling cash with those gloves. Then bare customer hands touched his glove as he handed over the cone and then customers hands went up towards their mouth and nose as they licked their cones. To make matters worse all minority Where is trial when they need him. I wonder do you think these guys were profiteering as well Oh!!! the inhumanity!!!..hahaha
