I love the smell of a 2 stroke outboard on a cool humid morning. Still have a Marriner 115 hp love the sound and smell.
My only complaint on 2 stroke outboards is the film and slight oil burn smoke they induce. Limited in factor, but still contribute to a bit of pollution.
I figure during my work drilling recovery wells while paying my way thru college and then working for an environmental consultant operating and maintaining contamination from leaking underground storage tanks till now where my company manufactures equipment that prevents contaminants from getting into ground water I can forgive myself for running a couple 2 stroke old smokers.

RE: global warming- When I was in grade school in the early 50, we were told the earth was cooling. 1964-1965 saw the New York World's Fair. The population clock during one visit showed 224M; now we are at 340M. Could that be the problem?
No here is the problem, human hubris and arrogance. This is a LIVING universe and planet we inhabit. There are those amongst us that assume they can state outcomes from gathering data from past events and " evidence ". What is that akin to? Well this A Doctor with a say, 40 year practice serving young and old with many thousands of different issues, stating facts on the life of a new born. Stating said new born will develope this way or that, have specific disease at specific times. Have specific bone breaks, menal abnormalties, etc,etc. as fact. It is an impossible premise.
