I fear that this election will be a huge turning point for this country. It is getting closer to us vs them, not that I am promoting that at all simply an observation. Both parties need to nip the far fringes, allowing them power has prevented the rest of the country from going forward in a reasonable way most people can agree to. Both parties candidates are forced to embrace the fringes for fear of losing their votes, that has got us to where we are at. That is how the fringes gain power and recruit, us vs them mentality. How did we get here? Big factor is the college education. 30 years ago the Republican Party tended to be people with wealth and well to do individuals. A college education was required to achieve a career that made you gainfully employed. Then college was made affordable thru insured loans by the government. The demographic has flipped anybody can get into college and anybody can get a student loan to attend. (keep in mind the party that wants to forgive student loans) Colleges have become liberal indoctrination centers where the hurtful truth is censored and banned. The liberals have done a masterful job of convincing people that the liberal party is the educated, enlightened party while the ignorant are conservative. Thanks for pushing the party off that cliff Donald Trump. I do have to have to say that much of the outrage about Trump is manufactured false hypocritical outrage. Liberals and the media (does it by using quotes not directly saying it.) Have called Hitler so many times, do a google search is Trump Hitler this is what he is called by high officials. The same group want to draw a line and say Trump calling Harris a ***** in a private conversation is further proof he is unfit for office. I am not getting more angry I am getting more apathetic.
