Don't be a lemming call a spade a spade, GOP has been in charge for 20 years in FL, and they have zero of a plan for when the ports flood to get gas for their people.

GOP woke is just as dumb as liberal woke, govern your state. It's funny but not funny is the one thing they are supposed to do is govern and be ready for emergency, they don't at all and nobody holds them(D/R) responsible.

Build that state prison next to one of your state's biggest money makers or keep with the middle school antics, or govern your state like you were elected to do and show you can be president.

Why should the state be involved with free enterprise? Unless you're proposing comunism or socialism.

And for those living in such areas probe to danger what about any form of personal accountability?

Maybe the state should just condemn or acquire the Keys under eminent domain...like the Fed and other gov entities do for those in flood plains. They be under water anyway, with climate change..

All that above I agree with, does not mean that state can't have a reserve correct? How is having a reserve for emergencies socialism? I really want to here this one, if so then the SPR should go away correct?

IMHO a state should only need a petroleum reserve for critical operations, a la BCP/DR...just like most private industry does with their facilities.

With Joe, it became evident the SPR is nothing but a commodity hedge and has no benefit to Joe taxpayer, civil defense or true national emergencies, other than Joe pays to refill it. I don't believe that was the original intent, but,if that is is use now, it also should be deprecated.

Folks that blindly follow party line politics never like to admit to their own failures. Both sides have plenty, and Germ does a decent job of pointing them out with sources. Killing the messenger has never changed the message.

Basic emergency management is something that every citizen should assume is already in place in every state. Apparently, that is a poor assumption. Having access to food, shelter, fuel/transportation and communication in an emergency does not equate to socialism in my book.

I do not get the outrage about Florida gas, the Gov got involved and there is a response. Gas was in short supply for a couple days. No city or county emergency response was lacking fuel. Also problematic with gas, stored underground, what happens when there is 2' of water standing over the underground storage tank, to suggest more gas on hand would remedy the problem is laughable.

Well for one I would not put the stored fuel near the coast, it would be centrally located in the state. Pretty simple, when event happens the private companies get the fuel from the reserve to fill their stations they pay market value for what they use. I don’t think it’s really that difficult. Hell Desantis could put this next to Disney.

Gas at the refineries in above ground storage, 95% of gas stations have underground tanks how are you going to fill gas stations when access to underground tank tank transfer fittings are underwater? The whole story is not being reported.

Hmm does not look like under water was the issue at here.

Some that were under water would be an issue, some would not. It’s really not that hard, tribal poltics and solitons have to be perfect, or it’s no good.

    Welcome to tribal politics

Let's talk tribal politics shall we, this above quote is what got this whole subject started. Now please EVERYONE take a good close look at what Germ actually said. Did he say that there might have been a problem with the handling of reserve gas and let it go as a management of the actual issue? Noooooo, no he did not. He took it to politics and inserted a whole not related woke political issue DeSantis is also dealing with in Florida. There was no earthly reason to do that other than his "tribal " politics. Then shows up to act above it all, as if one can't go quote and show what was really happening.

    Ps. BTW

I know Germ is a troll but he at least he's not as hard-core left as you are right!.
I'm a right winger but not radical.
Trump could take a dump and tell you it's made of solid Gold and youde believe him.
Dude, sorry to say but..., you'll sleep
better if you would lighten up and see/think for yourself instead of taking in whatever media you listen to as "Gospel".
    Lighten up Francis.
