Here is Minnesota they announced school would be closed till end of March, wife got to work and she learned the closure will go beyond the original date except they have not announced it yet, there is no reason to not announce the extension yet for some reason they have chose not to do so.
My bet, the school year could be over for many. But, the decision being how states boards of ed and Fed Ed deal with it. They mandate x days of education per grade, but if this persists for months, do you make kids repeat a grade? Attend summer school? Promote all regardless?
The standardized testing will have to be delayed, wife runs that program at the school she is not pleased other than being able to complete the set up without the usual interruptions.
Just stopped and little local cafe and they had news on, was saying the cdc just announced 8 weeks may be needed for school shut downs. That'd pretty much take up rest of school year if that goes. Will be interesting rest of week to see what all happens. Sad thing is like someone mentioned in another thread (Justin I think) main reason the gov has to step in is because ppl are stupid to do it themselves. Pretty bad grown ups need told to use common sense. There were several bars here locally that opened the doors at 8 am this morning to have parties for St Patty's before the shut down. And I'm sure they'll all be full. It is what it is I guess. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Well.... CDC says alcohol content of 70% or above kills the virus... So.... I suppose a round of Bacardi 151 shots is in order
Indiana just shut down all walk in service for restaurants and bars. Carry out and delivery service only.
Granted my town is part of a bigger school district but the district is not urban. They all have them they get deals from the manufacture and plenty of grants.
My wife's district they all have chrome books and no online work for them. My sons does not and they have work they are doing. So who knows what each school will do.
I live on the border with Washington state, they just did the same thing with restaurants and bars. They have schools closed until the middle of April. Lewiston, ID that I live in has schools closed the rest of March. Next week was Spring break, and they went ahead and gave them this week out of school too.
Dang it shoulda went into the party then. Gotta be some Irish whiskey meets that. Unless it's cumulative, suppose enough Guinness would kill anything. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Guinness is 4.3% so it’ll take 17 of them to reach 70. I can’t guarantee that 17 Guinnesses will kill Coronavirus but I can promise you that by the time you get to #16 you won’t give a damn either way.
